Job Description

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Mechanical Engineering team and contribute to the development of next-generation surgical robotic platforms. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex mechanical systems, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and bring innovative medical technologies from concept to reality.

What You'll Do
  • Design precision mechanical components, assemblies, and subsystems for surgical robotic platforms.
  • Create 3D CAD models and detailed 2D engineering drawings using Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or equivalent CAD software.
  • Translate product requirements into robust, manufacturable mechanical designs in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Apply GD&T principles and perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure fit, function, and manufacturability.
  • Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners on material selection, fabrication, and quality requirements.
  • Review, evaluate, and improve existing designs for performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost optimization.
  • Participate in design reviews and resolve technical challenges throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Take ownership of mechanical assemblies from concept through prototyping, testing, and design release.
  • Support rapid prototyping using 3D printing, CNC machining, and assembly processes.
  • Maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), revision history, and engineering change documentation.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Design, or a related discipline.
  • 2–4 years of experience in mechanical design, product development, or precision engineering.
  • Experience in robotics, medical devices, automation, or other product engineering industries is beneficial but not required.
Preferred Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, machine design, and mechanical engineering fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, additive manufacturing (3D printing), and mechanical assembly.
  • Understanding of material selection, stress-strain concepts, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
