Mechanical Engineer

Job Purpose:

• Allegion India is seeking a highly motivated Engineer for their Commercial Opening Solutions
• Responsibilities would include but not limited to: Reading and understanding of product specification based on sales/ customer inputs, Preparation of 3D models, technical drawings, drawing reviews, drafting process development/ enhancement.

Key Accountabilities:

• Good technical capabilities to develop 3D models and manufacturing drawings for steel door and frame modules
• Competency in sheet metal part design and drafting principles
• Must be able to analyze the requirements per the product guidelines and ensure technical deliveries
• Proactively assess and improve the quality of work for self, be accountable to schedule
• Propose and drive continuous improvement opportunities in design and drafting practices

Job Specification: Job Knowledge/Technical Skills/Qualifications

• Must be a graduate mechanical engineer at a minimum from a reputed university
• 4+ years of experience in 3D modeling of solid and sheet metal parts, creating and editing drawings for sheet metal parts using SolidWorks. Experience of using Creo is a plus
• Knowledge of sheet metal parts design
• Expertise in quality check of drawings, establishing, using and continuously improving the 3D modeling and drafting guidelines and processes.
• Expertise in creating engineering and production drawings in line with identified manufacturing capabilities.
