Role Description

Position: Junior MEP Engineer

Location: Hyderabad

Assist senior engineers in the design, coordination, and site supervision of a building's essential systems. The role is entry-level, focuses on learning from experienced professionals, and ensures that all MEP installations are safe, efficient, and compliant with design specifications and building codes.

Key Responsibilities

Design Support: Assist in the preparation of technical drawings, specifications, and reports using design software like AutoCAD and Revit.

System Coordination: Coordinate MEP system designs (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, ELV) with architectural and structural elements to ensure a clash-free integration.

Calculations: Perform basic engineering calculations, such as electrical load calculations or pipe sizing, under the guidance of a senior engineer.

Site Supervision & Quality Control: Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor installation progress, ensure quality control, and verify that work adheres to design specifications and safety regulations.

Documentation Management: Assist in reviewing contractor submittals (shop drawings, test reports, O&M manuals), logging changes, and maintaining accurate project documentation.

Problem-Solving: Help troubleshoot and resolve technical issues or design problems that arise during the construction or installation phase.

Testing and Commissioning: Assist senior engineers in the testing, adjusting, balancing, and final commissioning of MEP systems before project handover.

Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors, and other engineers.

Qualifications & Skills

Education: A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field is typically required.

Technical Knowledge: A strong foundational understanding of MEP systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical power, lighting, fire alarms).

Software Proficiency: Knowledge of relevant design and project management software, especially AutoCAD and Revit/BIM, is a significant advantage.
