Job Description – Mechanical Design Engineer (5+ Years Experience)

Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka

Experience: 5+ Years

Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical enclosures, assemblies, and components for defence and communication systems.
• Create detailed 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D CAD models.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM), engineering drawings, and complete design documentation.
• Perform design validation considering GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, DFM(Design for Manufacturing), and DFA (Design for Assembly).
• Coordinate with electrical, RF, FPGA, embedded, and manufacturing teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Work with fabrication and machining vendors to ensure manufacturability and quality.
• Support prototype development, testing, product validation, and engineering change management.
• Maintain design documentation, revision history, and product configuration records.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry and defence standards.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical product design.
• Strong proficiency in one or more CAD tools:
• CATIA
• Siemens NX
• Creo
• SolidWorks
• Experience using ANSYS for structural and thermal analysis is preferred.
• Strong understanding of:
• GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• DFM & DFA
• Tolerance Stack-up Analysis
• Sheet Metal Design
• Machined Components
• Manufacturing Processes
• Experience preparing engineering documentation and manufacturing drawings.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Defence, Aerospace, RF, Radar, Electronic Warfare (EW), or Satcom industries.
• Knowledge of MIL standards and environmental qualification requirements.
• Experience working with precision machining, CNC manufacturing, sheet metal fabrication, and mechanical integration.
• Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM/PDM) tools.
