About the Role

We are seeking a creative and technically skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our product development team. You'll be the driving force behind innovative mechanical solutions, transforming ideas into tangible products through thoughtful design and expert CAD modelling. This role emphasizes design thinking, user-centered problem-solving, and bringing concepts to life through detailed mechanical design.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development

Lead mechanical design projects from concept sketching to production drawings.

Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings using advanced CAD software.

Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles for cost-effective, scalable production.

Develop multiple design iterations and prototypes to optimize performance.

Analysis & Validation

Conduct FEA and CFD analysis to validate and optimize designs.

Collaborate with fabrication teams to ensure manufacturability and production-readiness.

Support physical prototyping and hands-on testing.

Participate in design reviews with analytical validation.

Innovation & Problem Solving

Research and integrate new materials, manufacturing processes, and design approaches

Create comprehensive design documentation and specifications

Work in field settings to understand real-world application requirements

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate user needs into mechanical solutions

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor's/Master's in Mechanical Engineering/ Design Engineering/Applied mechanics.

2+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical design and product development

Proven project experience with FEA and CFD tools

Portfolio demonstrating design and analytical capabilities

Technical Skills

DFM Expertise: Strong understanding of machining, fabrication techniques, sheet metal working,

casting, welding, GD &T, etc.

Manufacturing Knowledge: CNC machining, additive manufacturing, fabrication processes

Engineering Fundamentals: Solid mechanics, Computer-aided design, Engineering design, Design

thinking, Fluid mechanics, Material Science, FMEA, etc.

Rapid prototyping

Design & Creative Skills

Strong design thinking and problem-solving approach

Sketching, visual presentations, and human-centered design principles

Knowledge of design standards, tolerancing, GD&T, and cost optimization

Soft Skills

Creative mindset with attention to detail.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Collaborative team player adaptable to diverse environments (including field/rural).

Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects.

Preferred Qualifications-

Experience with lean design methodologies

Basic manufacturing techniques (laser cutting, sheet metal, machining)

Design patent applications and IP protection experience, Knowledge of additive manufacturing and 3D

printing
