Job Description – Mechanical Designer (3+ Years Experience)

Location: On-site (no remote/hybrid options)

About the Role

We are looking for a talented Industrial Designer with 3+ years of experience in hardware, consumer

electronics, or industrial product design. This is a fully on-site, hands-on role requiring close collaboration

with engineering, manufacturing, and overseas teams.

You will work on design concepts, CAD (Fusion 360), CMF, and create designs suitable for machining,

molding, and prototyping.

Responsibilities

• Produce product design concepts through sketches, 3D models, and high-quality renderings.

• Convert functional and engineering requirements into refined industrial design solutions.

• Create detailed, production-ready CAD models using Fusion 360.

• Prepare drawings, tolerances, CMF specs, and design documentation.

• Design parts suitable for:

• CNC machining (low-volume prototypes)
•   Injection molding (DFM compliance)
• 3D printing prototypes

• Collaborate with electronics/mechanical teams for component layout, fitment, and assembly.

• Ensure enclosure designs meet thermal requirements, including airflow, heat dissipation, and proper placement of heat-generating components.

Prototyping & Practical Work

• Work with engineers to evaluate 3D-printed and machined prototype parts.

• Assist in assembling prototypes, checking fit & finish, and providing design corrections

• Source screws, fasteners, adhesives, and basic materials from local hardware shops as required.

Manufacturing & Vendor Coordination

• Collaborate with machining vendors, fabrication partners, and tool makers.

• Address DFM feedback for machining and molding constraints.

• Support review of machined parts and molded samples (T1/T2, etc.).

Cross-Team Coordination

• Coordinate with US-based teams for reviews, feedback, and design alignment.

• Participate in US hours / off-hours calls when required to ensure smoothcommunication and timely decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in industrial design or Product Design.

• 3–5 years of professional experience in hardware/industrial design.

• Strong portfolio demonstrating real shipped products or prototypes.

• Proficiency in Fusion 360 or similar tools.

• Understanding of:

•  CNC machining design constraints (tool access, radii, tolerances)
•  Injection molding requirements (drafts, ribbing, wall thickness)
•  Assembly and DFM basics

• Hands-on approach to prototyping.

• Ability to collaborate with engineers, vendors, and overseas teams.

• Strong aesthetic sense, CMF awareness, attention to detail.

• Good communication and documentation skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with IP-rated enclosure design.

• Experience with tool makers and fabrication vendors.

• Familiarity with metal, sheet metal, or aluminum enclosure design.
