Job Description

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Design cost-effective components and assemblies using SolidWorks and Creo for:
  • Sheet metal, plastic, die-cast parts, and electromechanical products
  • Tools such as SolidWorks PDM and Creo Windchill
  • Generate conceptual designs, perform engineering calculations, and create detailed drawings for a wide range of products across various business segments.
  • Ensure product designs are feasible and optimized for manufacturing processes like:
  • Injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, die-casting, and surface treatment processes
  • Conduct specification analysis, component selection, and maintain well-structured product BOMs.
  • Deliver accurate and complete fabrication drawings with proper GD&T, assembly, and installation details aligned with project needs.
  • Develop design documentation, including:
  • Design specs, custom part drawings, EBOMs, common feature drawings, and process flows
  • Manage activities with intercompany resources and external vendors to support:
  • Prototyping, fabrication, assembly, and verification testing to meet international standards
  • Collaborate in multidisciplinary project teams and support prototype builds and product verification testing.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) techniques to both new and legacy products.
  • Interact with customers for weekly project status updates, document evaluations, and technical discussions.
  • Maintain a professional and collaborative relationship with customers and internal teams to deliver superior technical service.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E / B.Tech)
  • 58 years of hands-on mechanical design experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience using SolidWorks and Creo
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Tooling (Injection molding, Press tools, Die casting)
  • Machining, surface treatments, and metal fabrication processes
  • Skilled in material selection for plastic, sheet metal, die-cast, fabricated, and machined parts
  • Experience with tolerance stack-up analysis
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 and compliance standards like:
  • IEC60601, IEC60529, ISO10993, IEC60068
  • Additional advantage if experienced in:
  • Designing Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
  • Performing basic structural and thermal analysis
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
