Saltech specializes in creating sustainable, closed-loop recycling solutions to transform waste such as single-use plastics and industrial byproducts into high-performance, eco-friendly building materials. Their patented processes enable the production of carbon-negative composite materials, such as blocks, bricks, and tiles, offering a sustainable and cost-effective alternative to traditional construction materials. Saltech is supported by the Government of Gujarat and the Government of India and operates under the PDEU Innovation & Incubation Centre.

Role Description 

  

Type: Full-Time - On-Site, On-Floor, In-Office (Subject to project or work allocation) 

Location: Zak GIDC, Vahelal, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.   

Salary Range: 2,50,000 INR – 4,50,000 INR per annum (subject to experience and performance)   

Work Hours: 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM  

Work Schedule: 6 working days per week 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Ideation, Conceptualization, Design & Development of dry-waste recycling machines & sorting systems. 
  • Design for manufacturing, drafting and efficient assembly of parts, components, and systems. 
  • Lead prototype fabrication, run functional tests, measure performance, and iterate designs. 
  • Define maintenance points, lubrication plans and critical spares list. 
  • Produce Bill of Materials, assembly drawings, maintenance manuals for manufacturing and field teams. 
  • Coordinate with purchase team for timely procurement of components. 
  • Conducting on-field market visits to verify job work. 
  • Develop and implement QC to ensure the manufacturing team follows engineering drawings and GD&T standards. 
  • Create and maintain complete engineering documentation including design drawings, installation manuals, and technical specifications. 

 

 Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or related field. 
  • Expertise in Design Engineering, Machine Design, Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing. 
  • Familiarity with Product Design and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software as well as Computer-Aided Manufacturing software (SolidWorks, Creo, Mastercam, AutoCAD, CATIA, Key Shot, ANSYS etc.) 
  • Experience in designing and developing prototypes 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent attention to detail. 
  • Experience in the waste management or sustainability industries is a plus. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment 
  • Professional Fluency in English (Written/Spoken)

Selection Process: 

The selection process will comprise three stages: 

  • HR Round 
  • Practical/Technical Assessment (Shop-floor Evaluation) 
  • Tool Test  
  • Final Managerial Round

The candidate will gain exposure to advanced manufacturing operations, production optimization strategies, and quality management practices while working on industrial-scale mechanical systems.
