About the RoleMaharshi Industries Pvt. Ltd. (MIPL) is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer-Robotics to design and get manufactured mobile and tracked robotic platforms for Defence, Homeland Security, Railways, Oil & Gas, and industrial applications. This role involves end-to-end ownership from design to fabrication and deployment.
Key Responsibilities- Design mobile, tracked, and hybrid robotic platforms
- Create 3D CAD(Solidworks or similar) models, GA & manufacturing drawings
- Prepare BOMs, tolerances, and DFM/DFA-ready designs
- Coordinate with CNC machining, sheet-metal, welding & fabrication vendors
- Support assembly, integration, testing, and field trials
- Work closely with electronics and system integration teams.
Required Qualifications & Skills- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics
- 13 years of hands-on Robotics-Design experience. Freshers who have lead Mechanical teams of Robocon or similar competitions are also eligible.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks / Creo / Fusion 360
- Strong knowledge of chassis design, drivetrain, tracks, welded & sheet-metal structures
- Practical exposure to manufacturing and vendor coordination.
- Experience in mobile robotics, defence systems, UGVs, EOD or fire-fighting robots
- Understanding of motors, gearboxes, bearings, and ruggedized designs
- Prototype-driven and field-deployment experience.
- Candidates who have won or reached advanced rounds in nationally recognized robotics competitions such as ABU Robocon, e-Yantra Robotics Competition (IIT Bombay), Inter-IIT Tech Meet, DRDO/DST Robotics Challenges, ISRO Robotics Challenges, Smart India Hackathon (Hardware/Robotics track), SAE BAJA (Robotics/Autonomous teams), and similar national-level events will be strongly preferred.
