Job Description

Job Requirements

Architecting and detailing the mechanical design strategy for power meters with high competence in the below areas -

Advanced level of plastic part design skills

  • Heat transfer as applied to electronics cooling & thermal management of enclosers
  • Design for manufacture, service and cost
  • Good knowledge of tooling to build first time right designs
  • Robust mechanical product design including tolerance analysis, structural analysis etc
  • Product design documentation including GD&T
  • Knowledge on IEC & UL standards
  • Green packaging, knowledge of labels
  • IP protection class know-how for design

Mechanical Design, Test & Validation Of Products Including

  • Hands on implementation and prototyping
  • Product and component testing and report writing
  • Interaction with 3rd party test services

Coordinating interdependent work with other cross functions and teams, both local and international, including:

  • Industrial Design (ID) , Regulatory, Hardware, Supply Chain, Service and Quality teams
  • Conducts WCA and FMEA analysis to evaluate reliability and ensure there are no product safety/liability concerns.

Support Project Planning Activities By

  • Estimating the scope of work using work break down structures following Project Management Processes (PMP)
  • Ability to learn and keep abreast of related emerging technologies, strong execution skills and innovation mindset
  • Knowledge and Skills:
  • Product design expertise: Enclosure design with

plastics parts

  •  Experience and good knowledge of designing

enclosures for power electronics products to various

environmental conditions (IP20, IP30, IP40, IP54,

IP65, NEMA 4)

  •  Strong high volume product design knowledge.
  •  Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling using Creo.
  • Design experience for DFM/DFA goals for new

products.

  • Good knowledge of the compliance and safety

standards.

  • Exposure to power monitoring devices preferred but

not mandatory
