About the RoleWe are looking for a highly skilled and creative Mechanical Design Engineer with end-to-end product development experiencefrom concept to commercialization. This role is critical in building robust, high-performance automation systems.
The ideal candidate should combine strong engineering fundamentals with practical manufacturing experience and the ability to translate ideas into scalable, production-ready products.
Key Responsibilities1. Product Design & Development- Lead complete product development lifecycle: concept design analysis prototyping manufacturing validation
- Develop innovative mechanical concepts for automation systems and industrial products
- Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
- Ensure designs are optimized for performance, cost, manufacturability, and scalability
2. Engineering Analysis & Simulation- Perform design calculations (strength, load, fatigue, tolerance stack-ups, etc.)
- Conduct simulations (FEA, motion analysis, thermal where required)
- Validate designs through engineering principles and practical testing
3. Manufacturing & Vendor Coordination- Work closely with vendors for fabrication, machining, and assembly
- Select appropriate materials, processes, and manufacturing methods
- Negotiate pricing, timelines, and quality standards with suppliers
- Ensure smooth transition from design to production
4. Prototyping & Validation- Oversee prototype development and testing
- Identify design flaws and iterate quickly
- Ensure product meets performance, safety, and reliability standards
5. Cross-functional Collaboration- Work with electrical, controls, and software teams for integrated system design
- Interact with customers to understand requirements and provide technical solutions
- Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting if required
Key Requirements- 38+ years of experience in mechanical product design / industrial automation / capital equipment
- Strong expertise in mechanical design fundamentals (structures, mechanisms, materials, manufacturing processes)
- Hands-on experience in end-to-end product development
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (assemblies, drawings, sheet metal, weldments)
- Experience with FEA/simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation)
- Strong understanding of DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly)
- Experience working with vendors, fabricators, and machine shops
Preferred Profile- Experience in automation, robotics, packaging, or coating systems
- Strong aesthetic sense for designing clean, high-tech, and professional products
- Practical exposure to shop floor, fabrication, and assembly
- Ability to balance engineering perfection with cost and timelines
