We are looking to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer on a contract basis. In this role, you will help design and develop IDEC (Indirect Direct Evaporative Cooling) system that improves the efficiency of commercial air conditioning systems. The product is an IDEC (Indirect Direct Evaporative Cooling) retrofit system, which is meant to be added to existing outdoor AC units. You will work closely with our team to turn the concept into a practical, manufacturable solution.
Role ScopeYou will take the product from concept to manufacturing-ready design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a complete 3D CAD design of the system:
- Body/enclosure
- Structural frame
- Mounting brackets
- Airflow channels
- Heat exchanger housing
- Prepare fabrication-ready drawings and BOM
- Apply GD&T, tolerances, and proper material selection
- Select suitable nuts, bolts, and fasteners, considering vibration and outdoor conditions
- Support vendors during fabrication and resolve manufacturability issues
Requirements- Strong experience in mechanical product design
- Proficiency in SolidWorks / Fusion 360 / Creo / Ansys (any major 3D CAD)
- Good knowledge of:
- GD&T and tolerances
- Sheet metal and fabrication design
- Structural stability and DFM (Design for Manufacturing)
- Experience working with vendors is a plus
- HVAC or industrial equipment experience preferred

- 2D fabrication drawings
- Assembly drawings
- BOM with specifications
- Support during prototype fabrication
