The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Factory Engineering team focused on dry-type transformer design. The role involves end-to-end mechanical design activities including tender and order drawings, manufacturing documentation, and coordination with global teams to meet project and customer requirements.

How you'll make an impact

  • Prepare tender and order drawings for customer review and approval.

  • Generate manufacturing drawings, purchase drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM).

  • Ensure all designs comply with factory limitations, engineering guidelines, and checklists.

  • Collaborate with HUB and global engineering teams for new design implementations. Participate in internal design reviews and cross-functional discussions for special design cases.

  • Visit the shop floor to resolve design-related issues during production. Provide technical support to manufacturing teams to ensure smooth execution of designs.

  • Work with Creo (3D), AutoCAD, E3 software, SAP, and Microsoft Office. Utilize analysis tools for design validation and optimization.

  • Apply knowledge of IS / IEC / ANSI / IEEE / CBIP standards in design and documentation. Ensure compliance with ISO requirements and maintain proper documentation.

  • Ensure designs meet internal and external regulatory requirements.

  • Contribute to process improvements and design standardization.

  • Stay updated with latest technologies and standards in transformer design.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering

  • 2-7 years of experience in mechanical design for dry-type or oil-filled transformers.

  • Proficiency in Creo (3D), AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, E3 software, and SAP.

  • Strong understanding of IS / IEC / ANSI / IEEE / CBIP standards.

  • Familiarity with ISO requirements and documentation practices.

  • Candidates with higher experience will also be considered.

  • Knowledge of dry-type transformer design and winding design is an added advantage.

  • Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken)
