KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Responsible for requirements detailing, design specification preparation, implementation, test and integration of his Unit in accordance with the higher level Requirement and - Design specifications / architectures.
- Delegates, coaches and verifies the implementation by Engineers.
- Ensures the mutual consistency and efficient integration of the separate modules in modular, easy-to-maintain units that meets the product specification.
- Understands and communicates consequences of his/her design on the architecture.
- Determines the Unit interfaces (HW/SW), in close consultation with relevant disciplines.
- Ensures that there is proper documentation for his/her design.
- Keeps abreast of technical developments in own field through study of the literature, and technical contacts, and propagates it.
- Defines, executes and takes the lead in concept and feasibility studies with a limited scope to investigate the usability of new technologies.
- Contributes to technology roadmaps and other strategic related activities.
- Takes technological or process related improvements initiatives within the scope of at least the mechanical development group.
- Contributes to the Work Breakdown Structure/ the planning process of his/her area.
- Draws up personal schedule and reports on progress.
- Inspires his team members to get the job done.
- Performs work in line with the processes that have been agreed in the department.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor in mechanical engineering with 5 -9 years of experience
- Experience in modern engineering design and methods, tools, and processes.
- Experience in working in teams.
- Knowledge of state-of-the-art in programming and design methods & tools (CAD).
- Knowledge and understanding of other disciplines with which co operation takes place.
- Knowledge of a specific area of technology or product feature.
- Good command of English (both written and verbal).
- Disciplined team worker, ability to work independently and to act pro-actively
- Analytical, creative, and abstract thinker.
- Accurate, quality minded and improvement attitude
- Ability to coach, support and direct the Engineers in a subgroup.
- Ability to communicate on different levels and is aware of the means and the effect of communication.
- Is capable to introduce efficiency improvements on project level (change management)
- Carries out, independently and according to own judgement, targeted development assignments, the broad outlines of which have already been indicated.
- Develops parts of a new product according to technical specifications on basis of familiar technologies.
