JOB TITLE : ELECTRICAL & LIGHTING DESIGN MANAGER

POSITION DESCRIPTION :

The Electrical Design Manager will lead the coordination and technical oversight of all Electrical, Plumbing, Firefighting (MEPF), and Extra-Low Voltage (ELV) systems for a Lake Park in Gurugram, India. The Electrical & Lighting Manager is responsible for reviewing and managing all related design documents, interfacing with design consultants, supporting procurement and construction phases, and ensuring that all building services are technically sound, efficient, code-compliant, and well coordinated with other disciplines.

This position plays a key role in ensuring that the project's building systems including HVAC, power, lighting, water supply, drainage, fire suppression, vertical transportation, ICT, and security are properly designed, reviewed, and implemented in accordance with international best practices, local codes, and project requirements.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILIITES :

  • Lead electrical and lighting design including power distribution, landscape lighting, and smart systems.
  • Develop high-quality lighting concepts aligned with the project's luxury positioning.
  • Coordinate with landscape and architectural teams to integrate lighting design seamlessly.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, energy efficiency, and sustainability requirements.
  • Review technical submittals, drawings, equipment specifications, calculations, and reports prepared by design consultants and contractors.
  • Ensure that all Electrical designs comply with Indian standards, international codes, and the project's performance requirements.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary design reviews to ensure seamless integration with architectural, structural, and water systems.
  • Provide input for value engineering, system optimization, and lifecycle performance improvement.
  • Oversee technical evaluations and provide recommendations during procurement and contractor selection.
  • Support the site team with installation coordination, system interface resolution, and implementation planning.
  • Monitor and track RFIs, design clarifications, and progress of Electrical-related submissions.
  • Coordinate mock-up reviews, testing protocols, and inspections for critical systems (e.g., HVAC performance, electrical panels, fire pumps).
  • Prepare and maintain documentation such as technical review logs, comment sheets, meeting reports, and compliance matrices.
  • Collaborate with commissioning teams to support system verification, testing, and handover documentation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 20 years of experience in electrical & lighting design, preferably in public realm or landmark projects.
  • Deep understanding of electrical distribution, fire suppression, plumbing systems, and ELV (CCTV, access control, BMS, structured cabling).
  • Proficiency in technical software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, and MS Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with local and international codes including NBC, IS, NFPA, ASHRAE, IEC, and IEEE standards.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills in English; local language proficiency is mandatory.
  • Willingness to work full-time on-site in Gurugram, India.
