Role Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Oilfield Mechanic cum Operator who will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of a wide range of mechanical equipment used in the oilfield, including Cementing Units, Pumping Units, Silos, Diesel Generators, Diesel/Electric Compressors, HP Lines, pumps, engines and other heavy machinery. This role requires expertise in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and adherence to safety standards.

Role & Responsibilities

Under broad direction, performs preventive/predictive inspections, maintains, diagnoses, and repairs the assemblies of MG Well pumps/equipments including, but not limited to; Cementing Units, Pumping Units, Silos, Diesel Generators, Diesel/Electric Compressors and HP Lines as well as other manufacturer's pumping equipment.

Performs basic troubleshooting on some mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Responsible for the accurate completion of documentation that is produced within the pump maintenance process.

Responsible for the QA/QC, final check, input and accuracy of data into MG's system of record for the maintenance of pumping equipment.

Assists in the supervision of pump maintenance process.

This role is responsible for following specific and detailed work processes within the MG Well Management System during daily job activities.

Ensures duties are performed in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.

Performs own work and provides assistance to others as directed.

Paints reconditioned units, using spray gun.

Installs repaired equipment at drill sites, observes operations, and readjusts components, as necessary.

May maintain, repair, and install machinery and equipment at drill sites and be designated Field Mechanic.

Handle Pre and Post job equipment inspections and maintenance.

Assist in Cementing or Pumping operation during field work if present.

Qualifications / Skills

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school education in mechanical or related field is preferred.

5+ years mechanical experience with oilfield equipment

This role requires a high level of attention to detail, analytical approach, and a good understanding of document control.

Consequences of error are not easily measured and can result in failure of high-pressure pumping systems.

Such failures may result in serious injury or death to employees and customers in the field.

Proven experience as an Oilfield Mechanic or similar role, with a focus on subsurface production equipment.

Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems commonly found in oilfield equipment.

Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical failures and malfunctions.

Familiarity with equipment maintenance and repair tools, instruments, and diagnostic equipment.

Knowledge of safety protocols and practices within the oil and gas industry.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Physical stamina and ability to work in challenging environmental conditions and remote locations.
