We are seeking an experienced MDM Senior Data Engineer with expertise in backend engineering to work closely with business on the development and operation of our Master Data Management (MDM) platforms. This role requires a strong background in both Data Engineering and MDM and involves guiding junior data engineers and analysts to deliver high-performance, scalable, and governed solutions that align with the enterprise data strategy. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Informatica or Reltio and data engineering technologies like SQL, Python, PySpark, Databricks, and AWS.
Roles & Responsibilities
- MDM & Data Engineering: Develop MDM backend solutions and implement ETL and Data Engineering pipelines using Databricks, AWS, Python/PySpark, and SQL. You will lead the implementation and optimization of MDM solutions on platforms like Informatica or Reltio.
- Data Quality & Governance: Perform data profiling and identify necessary Data Quality (DQ) rules. You will define and drive the enterprise-wide MDM architecture, including IDQ, data stewardship, and metadata workflows.
- Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior team members, ensuring project delivery timelines are met. You will help the custom UI team with integrations using APIs or other methods for a better user experience on data stewardship.
- Cloud & Integrations: Manage cloud-based infrastructure using AWS and Databricks to ensure scalability and performance. You must be able to implement end-to-end integrations, including API-based, Batch, and Flat file-based methods, and have strong experience with external data enrichments and match/merge rules.
Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Databricks and AWS cloud services.
- Proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL, and Unix for data processing and orchestration.
- Deep knowledge of MDM tools (Informatica, Reltio) and data quality frameworks (IDQ).
- Knowledge of customer master data (HCP, HCO).
- Experience with data modeling, governance, and DCR lifecycle management.
- Experience with Tableau or PowerBI for reporting MDM insights is a plus.
- Exposure to Data Science and GenAI capabilities is a plus.
- Certifications in MDM (e.g., Informatica, Reltio), Databricks, or a cloud platform (AWS or Azure) are preferred.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree, a Bachelor's degree, or a Diploma in Business, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
- Experience in Pharma/Life Sciences is a plus.
- Working knowledge of a SAFe development environment and Agile practices (JIRA, Confluence) is a plus.
