ICU Medical Officer (MBBS) On-site | Mathura (Vrindavan), Uttar Pradesh

A busy district/tertiary-level hospital in Mathura (Vrindavan), Uttar Pradesh, is expanding its on-site critical care team to support increasing patient load across medical and postoperative ICUs. This role is ideal for MBBS clinicians with hands-on ICU experience who thrive in high-acuity, shift-based environments.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in the ICU: assess, stabilise, and manage critically ill medical and surgical patients during assigned shifts.
- Initiate and manage mechanical ventilation, weaning protocols, and ventilator troubleshooting; titrate oxygen and respiratory support per protocols.
- Perform bedside procedures including central venous catheterisation, arterial cannulation, and emergency airway management following hospital guidelines.
- Interpret arterial blood gases, electrolyte trends, and bedside monitoring data to guide timely interventions and drug titration.
- Lead resuscitation and code blue responses; administer ACLS algorithms and coordinate multidisciplinary care during emergencies.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, handover notes, and participate in daily rounds with consultants and allied teams to ensure continuity of care.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MBBS qualification with active registration on a State Medical Council.
- Proven hands-on ICU experience in managing ventilated and hemodynamically unstable patients (clinical exposure in adult ICU).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Competence in mechanical ventilation management and ventilator weaning.
- Proficiency in arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation and bedside emergency procedures (central line/arterial line).
- Ability to manage inotropes, vasopressors, fluid resuscitation and sepsis bundle implementation.
Preferred
- Postgraduate qualification or diploma/experience in Anaesthesia/Critical Care/Emergency Medicine.
- Training or practical experience in Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) for ICU use.
- Familiarity with renal replacement therapy (RRT) support and NIV/high-flow oxygen protocols.
