Emergency Medicine Physician (Primary title: Emergency Medicine Physician)

About The Opportunity
We are hiring a full-time Emergency Medicine Physician to join a well-equipped superspeciality hospital in Pudukottai, Tamil Nadu. The role offers day-shift clinical leadership (09:0018:00) with participation in the 24/7 emergency coverage rota. Accommodation is available for the selected candidate.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality clinical assessment, triage, stabilization and acute management of adult and pediatric emergency presentations during assigned shifts.
- Lead resuscitation and trauma teamsperform airway management, advanced life support and rapid decision-making for transfers or admissions.
- Coordinate care with surgical, medical and intensivecare teams to ensure timely escalation, diagnostic testing and definitive treatment.
- Document clinical encounters, discharge summaries and referral notes accurately in line with hospital protocols and medicolegal standards.
- Participate in the 24/7 emergency rota, handovers, shift planning and on-call duties to ensure continuous departmental coverage.
- Drive quality improvement: follow evidence-based ED protocols, contribute to clinical audits, and support training/mentoring of junior doctors and nursing staff.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MBBS with valid medical registration (NMC/State Medical Council).
- MEM (Master of Emergency Medicine) or DNB/MD in Emergency Medicine or equivalent postgraduate training in emergency care.
- Current ACLS certification and hands-on experience in advanced cardiac life support.
- Demonstrated experience in a busy Emergency Department with trauma and critical care exposure.
- Proficiency in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) and bedside diagnostic procedures.
- Strong clinical documentation and familiarity with emergency triage systems and protocols.
Preferred
- ATLS certification or formal trauma course training.
- Prior experience in a superspeciality or tertiary care hospital setting.
- Experience mentoring junior clinicians and participating in departmental governance or audit projects.
