Job Purpose

To deliver high-quality Mathematics teaching across Cambridge International AS & A Level while preparing to extend provision to the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, supporting students in achieving outstanding academic results and developing strong critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and confidence in mathematics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned primarily with Cambridge AS/A Level Mathematics, while also supporting current and future requirements of the IB Mathematics (AA/AI SL/HL, as applicable) curriculum.
  • Teach relevant content including Pure Mathematics, Statistics, Mechanics, and applied mathematics topics.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Integrate technology, inquiry-based learning, and real-world applications into lessons.
  • Design and administer assessments aligned with Cambridge and IB assessment criteria.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student progress.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments, mock examinations, and final external examinations.
  • Monitor and support students academic and personal development.

Professional & Departmental Duties

  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning.
  • Stay up to date with syllabus changes, examination updates, and best practices.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics or a related discipline (Master's preferred).
  • Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching Cambridge AS/A Level and/or IB Mathematics preferred.
  • Strong understanding of international assessment frameworks.
