Role Summary

The Materials Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, enriching, standardizing, and maintaining highquality data for equipment and bulk materials used across oil & gas projects and operations. This role supports engineering, procurement, supply chain, and inventory teams by ensuring accurate material master data, forecasting material demand, identifying costsaving opportunities, and improving data governance across the materials lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Materials Data Management
  • Create, clean, validate, and maintain material master data for equipment, instruments, piping, electrical, structural steel, chemicals, and other bulk materials.
  • Ensure materials comply with engineering standards, specifications, and global material coding frameworks (e.g., UNSPSC, ISO 8000, ISO 15926).
  • Standardize descriptions, units of measure, attributes, and classifications for accuracy and consistency.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Analyze consumption trends, lead times, historical usage, and inventory patterns to support forecasting and procurement decisions.
  • Develop dashboards and reports (Power BI/Tableau/Excel) to track material data quality, catalog performance, and supply chain KPIs.

Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Supply Chain, Materials Management, or related field.
  • 37 years of experience in materials or engineering data management within the oil & gas, EPC, or energy industry.
  • Strong understanding of equipment and bulk materials: piping, valves, fittings, electrical equipment, mechanical equipment, structural steel, instrumentation, etc.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools: Excel (advanced), SQL, Power BI/Tableau, Python (optional).
  • Experience working with MRO data, BOMs/MTOs, material master records, and catalog management systems.
  • Familiarity with international standards (ASME, ASTM, API, IEC, ISO).
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
