The essence of the role: Master Data Specialist

The Master Data Specialist is responsible for end-to-end governance, maintenance, and quality of Supplier Master Data across all Sinch entities within the GCC scope and relevant ERP systems. The role ensures consistency, accuracy, compliance, and standardization of supplier data while maintaining appropriate Segregation of Duties (SoD). This position acts as the single point of accountability for supplier master data, enabling improved spend visibility, stronger governance, and operational efficiency.

Your responsibilities

Master Data Management

  • Act as the single point of responsibility for creation, maintenance, and updates of Supplier Master Data, Customer Master Data, Pricing Master Data and Global Chart of Accounts (GCOA) across all in-scope Sinch entities and ERP systems.

  • Ensure master data records (supplier and customer details, bank information, tax data, payment terms, pricing conditions, and GCOA mappings) are complete, accurate, and consistently maintained across entities and systems.

  • Manage master data creation and change requests through defined workflows and ticketing tools (e.g., JIRA), ensuring timely processing and proper approvals.

  • Perform periodic data reviews, de-duplication, harmonization, and standardization of supplier, customer, and pricing records across entities.

Governance, Controls & Compliance

  • Apply standardized validation checks for all master data changes, including sanction screening, customer and supplier compliance, pricing approvals, and financial control validations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Segregation of Duties (SoD) through defined system roles and access controls for supplier, customer, pricing, and GCOA maintenance.
  • Maintain complete audit trails, documentation, and change logs for all master data objects to support internal and external audits.
  • Ensure GCOA structures and pricing policies comply with group accounting, finance, and commercial reporting requirements.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Procurement, Finance, Controlling, Sales/OTC, PM&O, and IT teams to ensure accurate and timely master data maintenance.
  • Act as the central coordination point for master data administration, reducing dependencies on Accounting, Procurement, and Sales/OTC teams.
  • Provide guidance and subject matter expertise on supplier, customer, pricing, and GCOA standards, usage, and best practices.

Process Improvement & Data Quality

  • Define, document, and continuously improve governance frameworks and processes for Supplier, Customer, Pricing, and GCOA master data.
  • Establish and monitor data quality KPIs (accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness) across all master data domains.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and system enhancements to reduce manual effort and operational risk.
  • Enable reliable financial reporting, spend analysis, pricing analytics, and customer insights through consistent master data structures and GCOA alignment.

Scope Management

  • Manage master data primarily for Sinch entities within the GCC scope, covering Supplier, Customer, Pricing, and GCOA domains.
  • Support onboarding of additional entities, systems, or data domains into scope as agreed with key stakeholders.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in Master Data Management, Finance Operations, Accounts Payable, or Procurement within a shared services or multi-entity environment.
  • Proven experience managing supplier or vendor master data across multiple legal entities and ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing or maintaining data governance frameworks and compliance controls.
  • Experience working in a global or regional organization with complex stakeholder structures is preferred.
  • Certifications in SAP, Master Data Management (MDM), or Finance/Accounting are an advantage.

Personality

  • High ownership and accountability: Takes full responsibility for data accuracy and completeness.

  • Detail-oriented: Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and consistency in data handling.

  • Process-driven mindset: Values structure, standardization, and documented processes.

  • Integrity and confidentiality: Handles sensitive financial and supplier information with the highest level of discretion.

  • Analytical thinker: Able to identify data patterns, inconsistencies, and root causes.

  • Proactive and self-driven: Anticipates issues and drives improvements without constant supervision.

  • Collaborative yet independent: Works effectively across teams while confidently owning decisions within the role's mandate.

  • Resilient and adaptable: Comfortable operating in a multi-entity, evolving environment with changing priorities.
