Job Description

Marketing Intern — Astrogate Labs

Location: Sahakar Nagar, Bengaluru. Hybrid. Full-time.

Duration: 2 months (Maybe extended later)

Start: May - June 2026.

[Probably not for you if

You're a pure content creator, a GPT-first writer, an aspiring influencer, a designer-only candidate, or you're looking for remote work. We'd rather be upfront about this than waste your time and ours.]

Astrogate Labs builds laser-based satellite and defense communication systems. We're looking for someone who can throw themselves into the deep end with us — ideation and research first, execution second. The thinking is the harder part; the doing follows from it.

What you'll get to do

Ideation and research — this is the heart of the role

You'll read widely across our sector — Indian and global — and come back with content angles where we have something worth saying. You'll profile peer Indian deep-tech and adjacent startups, looking at how they tell their story, what kind of voice their founders use, how often they show up.

You'll help us build our social-media engagement list (40–50 handles on X and LinkedIn that we want to follow and engage with daily) and our press contact list (30–40 named journalists with email and phone, the people we'll actually reach out to when we have news). Both with proper notes on who covers what.

You'll dig into event ROI, panel and speaking opportunities, partner co-marketing ideas, and demonstration showcase options — the kind of homework that needs doing before we say yes or no to anything. And you'll reach out to third parties when we need them on our side: customers, partners, academics, journalists, on-ground facilitators. Picking up the phone, following up, learning how to turn a cold ask into a yes.

Planning and coordination

You'll watch us run editorial, video, and event calendars 30 days out, and gradually start contributing to the cycles. You'll sit in on three-quote sheets with vendors — designers, videographers, printers — and over time, run them yourself. You'll get involved in event production, and put together post-event reports within a week of each event closing.

Writing and visual production

You'll try your hand at our monthly post bank, first cuts of press releases, and blog repurposes. You'll also build the visual side — graphics, decks, one-pagers, social cards, snippet libraries — working across Canva, Photoshop or Illustrator, and PowerPoint.

Measurement

You'll pull the monthly marketing dashboard together with us so we can actually see what's working.

How the three months unfold

Week 1 is mostly observing and contributing alongside us. By Week 4 you'll be running pieces of this independently. The three months are designed to take you from shadowing to substantially owning a slice of the marketing function — not learning the basics from scratch, but building real ownership on top of what you already know.

What we're looking for

You're in your final or pre-final year of a Master's in Marketing, Communications, or Mass Comm. We need to see both sides of you: things you've run (fests, clubs, fundraisers, campaigns) and people you've got to cooperate with you (recruited volunteers, negotiated sponsorships, ran field surveys, convinced strangers to participate in something). One without the other isn't enough.

You should be proficient in Canva and PowerPoint, and comfortable in at least one design tool — Photoshop, Illustrator, or Figma. You should be comfortable on the phone and persistent when people don't pick up the first time. And you should know how to do primary research — finding original sources, not relying on whatever the first Google result tells you.

Stipend, reporting structure, and other details will be shared with shortlisted candidates.
