Job Description

I'm building a few indie products in the productivity & AI space like Focusmo, and I'm looking for a junior marketer / growth intern who wants to learn and experiment with me.

If you love trying different marketing ideas, analyzing what worked, and turning that into real users & revenue, this will be fun. You'll work directly with the founder (me) and see the full journey, not just a tiny slice.

What you'll do

You won't just make posts. You'll help design & run small experiments like:

  • Researching where our audience hangs out (Reddit, X, Discord, communities, etc.)
  • Drafting posts, DMs, and simple email sequences to get users and conversations
  • Helping with basic SEO tasks: finding keywords, planning blog topics, writing briefs
  • Talking to users: reading their feedback, summarizing insights, suggesting changes
  • Tracking simple metrics: clicks, signups, replies, conversions from each experiment
  • Testing different angles & hooks for the same product and seeing what converts better

You'll start small, with clear, simple tasks and we'll scale up as you get comfortable.

Who you are

You don't need fancy degrees. I care more about how you think and how you work.

  • Maybe you've run any kind of marketing experiment before
  • posted in a community and got engagement
  • grew a small page/account
  • wrote threads/posts that performed well
  • You like talking to users/customers and understanding what they actually want
  • You're comfortable writing in simple, clear English (no fluff)
  • You're curious, honest, and okay with feedback
  • You're not afraid to try 10 things, learn from 7 failures, double down on 3 wins

If you already love Reddit, X, or niche online communities, that's a big plus.

What you'll learn

This internship is very practical and experiment-heavy. You'll see:

  • How an indie founder thinks about traction, funnels, and what to do next
  • How to design a simple growth experiment, measure it, and decide if it's worth scaling
  • How to position a product differently for different audiences (angle testing)
  • How to talk to users without being salesy or spammy
  • How to think in terms of results (signups, revenue, replies) instead of just content

If you want to become a strong marketer, founder, or growth person, this will give you real reps.

Time & Pay

  • Time: 1020 hours per week (flexible, we'll decide together)
  • Duration: 12 months to start (extendable if we both like working together)
  • Stipend: 10k - 50k / month + Commission (based on hours & experience)

How to apply (keep it short)

Please send me a quick message or email on [Confidential Information] with:

  1. One example of something you tried to promote (project, page, post, anything):
  • What you did
  • Where you posted/shared it
  • What happened (rough results)
  1. A short note (35 lines) on why this role interests you right now.
  2. Your LinkedIn / X / any profile where I can see how you think/post.

No long cover letters. Just show me how you think + something you've actually tried.
