About the Role

The Marketing Engineer will own growth systems that connect lead generation, outreach, follow-up, CRM, reporting, and experimentation into one operating layer. This role is for someone who can move between marketing strategy and hands-on engineering, using code, automation, and AI to remove friction and create scale. The work is highly cross-functional and spans multiple portfolio companies, so the person in the role must be comfortable building in messy environments and improving systems as they go. Success means replacing repetitive work with lean workflows, turning ideas into shipped automations, and improving growth efficiency with practical tools that teams actually use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build end-to-end growth workflows that connect lead generation, outreach, follow-ups, CRM, and reporting into systems that reduce manual effort and create faster execution.
  • Write Python and JavaScript scripts to automate marketing operations, improve internal processes, and replace repetitive tasks with reliable, low-maintenance workflows.
  • Design and maintain dashboards, trackers, and growth tools that help teams measure funnel performance, isolate bottlenecks, and make decisions based on data rather than intuition.
  • Integrate CRMs, email tools, databases, analytics platforms, and AI models using APIs, automation platforms, and custom code to create a connected growth stack.
  • Build AI-powered workflows for content generation, personalization, outreach, and analysis so the team can scale experiments without adding unnecessary headcount.
  • Work across multiple SaaS portfolio companies to improve demand generation, reduce CAC, and clean up marketing operations in environments that are changing quickly.
  • Prototype, test, and iterate on agents, chains, and automations with a builder mindset, turning early ideas into practical systems that drive real business impact.

Essential Skills & Technologies

  • Strong hands-on coding ability in Python and JavaScript, with the ability to translate growth problems into scripts, automations, and tools that teams can use independently.
  • Working knowledge of automation platforms and integration tools such as Zapier, Make, or n8n, with the confidence to build dependable workflows across business systems.
  • Experience connecting CRMs, email tools, analytics platforms, databases, and APIs to create simpler operating systems that improve marketing execution and visibility.
  • Practical understanding of AI, LLMs, and agent-based workflows, with the ability to use them for content, outreach, analysis, and workflow automation.
  • Comfort running experiments using hypotheses, metrics, and iteration, so growth decisions are shaped by evidence and measurable impact rather than vague planning.
  • Ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments, solve problems from first principles, and keep shipping without needing heavy hand-holding.
  • Strong systems thinking, with a habit of replacing bloated tools and disconnected processes with leaner, faster, and more reliable custom solutions.

Additional Plus

  • Side projects, bots, scripts, or automations that show a builder mindset and a habit of learning by shipping rather than waiting for perfect conditions.
  • Experience automating cold outreach, lead scraping, or similar growth workflows that created leverage by reducing manual work and speeding up execution.
  • Examples of replacing SaaS tools or internal processes with small custom systems that were cheaper, faster, or more effective than the default setup.
