Description
We're seeking a Technical Marketing Engineer (TME) to work directly with Product Management and Engineering as the technical voice for Versa's SASE/SSE innovations. You'll create compelling technical narratives, build early product demos, and enable go-to-market teams with deep technical expertise. This role reports to Product Management and serves as the bridge between engineering capabilities and market communication.
Responsibilities
Technical Content & Demos
- Build end-to-end security demonstrations showcasing integrated SASE/SSE capabilities
- Create demos for new product features and releases
- Create compelling end-to-end system demos
- Develop technical whitepapers, solution briefs, and reference architectures
- Produce demo videos, technical blogs, and documentation
Engineering Collaboration
- Work closely with Engineering teams to understand new features and capabilities
- Participate in beta testing and technical validation
- Provide field feedback and market requirements to Engineering
- Translate technical capabilities into customer-facing narratives
Competitive Positioning
- Conduct hands-on competitive evaluations
- Develop technical battle cards and differentiation messaging
- Provide competitive intelligence to Product Management
- Create comparison content for market positioning
Cross-Functional Enablement
- Support Product Marketing with technical content and messaging
- Enable Sales Solution Architects with technical guidance in their demo environments
- Collaborate with Sales Enablement on training materials
- Provide technical expertise for customer presentations and events
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 4+ years in technical product marketing, solutions engineering, or product management
- Hands-on experience with SASE/SSE technologies: SWG, CASB, ZTNA, DLP, FWaaS
- Understanding of networking (SD-WAN, routing) and cloud security architectures
- Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages for automation and demos
Domain Knowledge
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and threat landscape
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Familiarity with API security and security analytics
- Understanding of enterprise compliance requirements
Communication
- Strong technical presentation and storytelling skills
- Excellent technical writing ability
- Experience creating demos and technical content
- Comfortable presenting to technical and business audiences
Collaboration
- Experience working closely with engineering and product management teams
- Ability to translate technical capabilities into business value
- Self-starter with ability to work cross-functionally
- Customer-focused mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications: CISSP, CCNP Security, or equivalent
- Cloud certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Security Specialty, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or similar
- Prior experience at security or networking vendors
- Lab environment and demo automation skills
- Background in technical evangelism or developer relations
Reporting Structure
This role reports directly to Product Management and works closely with Engineering, Product Marketing, Sales Enablement, and Solution Architecture teams
