Position Title: Marketing & Student Recruitment Manager

Reports To: Chief Business Officer

Employment Type: Full-time

Position Summary

The Marketing & Student Recruitment Manager is responsible for developing and delivering marketing and recruitment strategies that drive student enrolment growth for UNSW Bengaluru campus. The role combines strategic marketing expertise, recruitment channel management, brand guardianship, and stakeholder engagement to attract high-quality students and meet the University's Bengaluru campus enrolment targets.

The Manager leads marketing campaigns, partnerships, outreach programs, and recruitment activities while ensuring alignment with the institution's brand, strategic goals, and compliance frameworks.

Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement annual marketing and student recruitment plans for UNSW Bengaluru.
  • Maintain collaborative planning rhythms with UNSW Sydney marketing, digital experience and student recruitment team to support alignment between UNSW Bengaluru and UNSW Sydney marketing and student recruitment activities
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and student data to inform evidence-based strategy.
  • Set recruitment targets using evidence based forecasting and manage pipeline performance tracking against goals.
  • Lead marketing campaigns for undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
  • Oversee digital marketing initiatives (SEM, social media, content, email marketing).
  • Collaborate with UNSW Sydney central marketing teams to ensure brand consistency and playbook compliance.
  • Develop compelling promotional materials, presentations, and student-focused content.
  • Manage partner relationships and ensure brand and regulatory compliance with approved partners, including but not limited to counsellors, high schools, and pathway partners.
  • Represent the institution at fairs, expos, school visits, and events (onshore and offshore).
  • Coordinate campus tours, open days, webinars, and outreach activities.
  • Supervise enquiry management and conversion activities throughout the student journey.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationship with academic faculties, admissions, marketing, student recruitment, and international offices.
  • Partner with digital, CRM, and analytics teams to optimise conversion funnels.
  • Provide market insights to support program development and pricing decisions.
  • Engage with government bodies, industry partners, and community groups as required.
  • Track recruitment pipelines using CRM and reporting tools.
  • Provide regular dashboards, forecasts, and insights to senior leadership.
  • Evaluate campaign performance and adjust strategies to improve ROI.
  • Monitor key metrics including leads, applications, offers, acceptances, and commencements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the recruitment team (coordinators, officers, ambassadors).
  • Foster a customer-focused, high-performance culture.
  • Manage budgets and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Drive innovation in recruitment processes, digital engagement, and service delivery.

Skill & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, International Relations, or related field (required).
  • Postgraduate qualification in Marketing, Business, or Higher Education (advantageous).
  • 10+ years of experience in student recruitment, marketing, or similar roles.
  • Experience in higher education, vocational education, or international recruitment preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving student recruitment and/or sales targets.
  • Experience managing digital performance marketing campaigns and working with CRM systems.
  • Strong understanding of student recruitment channels, trends, and demographics.
  • Brand management experience with excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills.
  • Strong digital marketing capability (social media, content, analytics).
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, with strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Data-driven decision-making and market research skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership, coaching, and team management skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
