Job Summary

The Production Head will be responsible for planning, directing, and controlling all production activities to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, quality compliance, and optimal utilization of resources. The role requires strong operational leadership to drive productivity, process improvements, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities1. Production Planning & Execution

• Develop and implement production plans in line with business targets.
• Ensure timely execution of manufacturing schedules and project commitments.
• Monitor daily production output and address bottlenecks proactively.
• Optimize manpower, machine utilization, and workflow efficiency.

2. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement

• Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or TPM initiatives.
• Improve productivity, reduce rework, and minimize wastage.
• Implement automation and process improvements where feasible.
• Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions for performance gaps.

3. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to quality standards, inspection protocols, and customer specifications.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams for in-process and final inspections.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards and other regulatory requirements.

4. Cost Control & Budget Management

• Manage production budgets and control operational costs.
• Reduce material wastage and improve yield.
• Monitor production cost per unit and improve profitability.

5. Team Leadership & Workforce Management

• Lead and supervise production managers, supervisors, and shop floor teams.
• Develop workforce capabilities through training and skill development.
• Maintain discipline, motivation, and performance-driven culture.

6. Safety & Environment

• Ensure strict adherence to safety norms and plant SOPs.
• Conduct safety audits and enforce zero-accident culture.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and statutory regulations.

7. Coordination & Reporting

• Collaborate with procurement, planning, design, and dispatch teams.
• Provide regular MIS reports on production targets, efficiency, and quality metrics.
• Participate in strategic planning and capacity expansion initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering
• MBA (Operations) preferred

Experience & Skills

• 15+ years of experience in manufacturing/production, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication, machining, assembly, and industrial processes.
• Experience in project-based manufacturing is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and production planning tools.
