Role Summary- Successful candidates will have a background in manual quality assurance testing and business process analysis. This role is responsible for reverse engineering use cases from legacy applications across WWT's quoting, pricing, catalog, and rule engine portfolio discovering, documenting, and validating the business scenarios these systems support.
Key Responsibilities
- Reverse engineer existing legacy applications (quoting, pricing, catalog, and rule engine systems) to discover and document business use cases, workflows, decision logic, and end-to-end business scenarios that may be undocumented or only known through tribal knowledge
- Create and maintain detailed, step-by-step test cases that capture how business users complete key scenarios- including expected inputs, outputs, decision points, exception paths, and business rules embedded in legacy systems
- Execute manual test cases across legacy applications to validate documented business scenarios, identify gaps in understanding, and uncover undocumented behaviors or edge cases
- Collaborate with business users, analysts, product owners, and developers to interview subject matter experts, validate documented use cases, and reconcile differences between intended and actual system behavior
- Leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude, Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot) in daily workflows to accelerate use case documentation drafting, generate test case variations, summarize SME interview notes, analyze application behavior patterns, and improve overall productivity
- Identify, document, and track software defects discovered during exploratory testing and use case validation, working closely with development teams to reproduce and resolve them
- Build and maintain a use case library and business scenario catalog that serves as a living reference for future testing, modernization, and knowledge transfer efforts
- Support modernization and migration initiatives by providing documented use cases and acceptance criteria that ensure legacy business logic is preserved in new systems
,
