The Team
Capability Hubs (CH) is a mature set of cross-functional capabilities that enable the go-to-market agenda, corporate functions and engagement support teams of KPMG firms.
Led by an experienced leadership team across six locations in India (Gurugram, Bengaluru, Kochi, Pune, Hyderabad and Noida) and supported by seasoned professionals with deep domain expertise, CH is dedicated to delivering value and achieving business outcomes.
Working closely with KPMG firms, which leverage our teams for enablement across functions such as Insights & Risk management, Sales Enablement, Digital Experience & Business Services, Technology Services and Transformation, CH forms an integral part of KGS strategy to innovate, build, scale and improve profitability.
Role Overview
- The Lead Azure Integration Platform Engineer provides strategic and technical leadership for the Azure Integration Services (AIS) platform. The role is accountable for ensuring the platform is secure, resilient, compliant, scalable, and cost-effective, while enabling enterprise integration capabilities across the organisation.
- Operating at SFIA Level 56, the role combines hands-on technical leadership, operational accountability, and continuous improvement, influencing platform strategy, standards, and engineering practices across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Platform Strategy & Architecture
- Define and own the Azure Integration Services platform strategy, standards, and roadmap
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and governance principles
- Define platform patterns, reference architectures, and best practices
Platform Engineering & Operations
- Lead the engineering and operation of:
- Azure Logic Apps (Consumption & Standard)
- API Management
- Service Bus, Event Grid
- Azure Functions
- Ensure high availability, scalability, performance, and resilience of the platform
- Own platform lifecycle management, including upgrades, patching, and deprecation planning
- Participation in rotational on-call support for Priority 1 incidents
- Support for planned maintenance windows
- Acts as escalation point for cross-region and cross-time-zone incidents
Monitoring, Reliability & Incident Management
- Define and maintain monitoring and observability standards using:
- Azure Monitor
- Application Insights
- Log Analytics & Workbooks
- Lead major incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability and reduce operational risk
Security, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with organisational security, audit, and regulatory requirements
- Manage:
- Azure RBAC and policies
- Key Vaults and secrets
- Network security (VNETs, NSGs, private endpoints)
- Partner with security and risk teams to proactively address vulnerabilities and threats
Cost Management & Optimisation
- Monitor and optimise Azure Integration Services costs
- Define cost controls, budgets, and optimisation recommendations
- Provide regular cost and capacity reporting to stakeholders
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary escalation and coordination point with Microsoft Premier / Unified Support
- Collaborate with application teams, architects, and delivery leads to enable integration outcomes
Leadership, Coaching & Capability Development
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to senior and junior engineers
- Set engineering standards, review designs, and uplift platform capability
- Contribute to skills development, knowledge sharing, and operational maturity
Qualifications
Experience Profile
- 911 years of experience in Azure cloud platforms, with deep specialisation in enterprise integration services.
- Proven experience leading complex, business-critical platforms in regulated or large-scale environments.
Required Skills & Experience
- Expert knowledge of Azure Integration Services and enterprise integration patterns
- Strong experience in Azure networking, security, and governance
- Proven leadership in platform operations, SRE, and ITIL-aligned service management
- Experience operating large-scale, mission-critical platforms in production environments
Desirable
- Azure Architect, Integration, or Security certifications
- Experience defining platform standards and operating models
- Exposure to regulated, high-availability, or global environments
