About the Role

The Manager, Strategic Partnerships is responsible for the execution and operational governance of key stakeholder advocacy and partnership initiatives to cover a period of maternity leave. This role sits within the Communications, Engagement and Partnerships (CEP) Division.

The role's primary function is to deliver measurable outcomes in affinity building by executing planned tactics across advocacy streams, managing operational compliance, and supporting the enhancement of strategic relationships with digital and industry partners. This position reports to the Lead, Strategic Partnerships, and supports cross-functional efforts with Internal/External Communications and Brand Marketing teams.

Roles & Responsibilities

Strategic Engagement and Advocacy

  • Execute planned advocacy tactics for priority workstreams (e.g., Employees, Loyal Readers) in collaboration with relevant relationship owners. Implement the tactics to grow and manage the advocate network.
  • Support partnerships with international associations (e.g., WAN-IFRA, INMA), focusing on supporting affinity-building objectives and identifying advocacy opportunities (e.g., Asia Future Summit 2026).
  • Collaborate with the External Communications team to create condensed and easily understandable social media engagement guidelines to support employee advocacy efforts.

High-Impact Project and Content Oversight

  • Curate training, reviews, and consultations for SPH brands with social media partners (e.g., platform performance reviews, content optimisation training).
  • Evaluate and facilitate partners programmes and opportunities that bring value and create high-impact for our brands and the organisation.
  • Co-supervise and guide the intern responsible for tracking the outcomes and metrics of initiatives within the advocacy calendar of events.
  • Conduct industry screening, select key articles, insights, and updates on tech firms, digital companies, and news associations, and distribute them organisation-wide.

Operational Governance

  • Support the exploration and implementation of technology (e.g. CRM) to build and track the advocacy pool, including defining necessary data fields and segmentation strategy.
  • Ensure the programme's foundation is fully compliant with best practice, including PDPA (data privacy) requirements.
  • Ensure CEP-related risks are identified, assessed, and regularly updated, conducting at least two reviews per year in alignment with the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) cycle.
  • Manage and document critical social media processes across platforms and develop/maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for key functions (e.g., verification, name changes).

Who we are looking for

  • 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, including at least three years in a project management or execution role within communications, partnerships, or digital marketing.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and navigate ambiguity.
  • Strong organisational and compliance-focused capabilities, particularly in data management and operational protocol development (SOPs).
  • A self-starter with excellent communication skills and working effectively with cross-functional teams.
