Role Overview

The Manager/ Senior Manager Operations & Process Excellence will be based in Pune and will own end-to-end operational excellence across PharmaACE's India operations and global delivery ecosystem. This role is responsible for driving scalable operations, process transformation, efficiency, quality, and cost optimization, while ensuring strong alignment with business strategy and client expectations.

This role will work closely with the Leadership Team, Business Unit Heads, and Global Stakeholders to institutionalize a culture of data-driven decision-making, continuous improvement, and operational rigor across PharmaACE.

Key Responsibility Areas: -

Operational Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and execute PharmaACE's operations and process excellence strategy, aligned with business growth and global delivery needs.
  • Define and track operational KPIs, productivity metrics, quality benchmarks, and cost levers across BUs and locations.
  • Own project/account-level operational health, and margin optimization.
  • Oversee core operational functions including Operations, Facilities, PMO, and shared services.

Process Excellence & Transformation

  • Lead enterprise-wide process transformation, simplification, and standardization initiatives across delivery, analytics, and support functions.
  • Identify, prioritize, and execute high-impact improvement opportunities aligned to strategic business objectives.
  • Challenge as-is processes and introduce Lean, Six Sigma, and best-in-class operational practices.
  • Drive adoption of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure effective change management across large, cross-functional teams.

Operational Effectiveness & Resource Optimization

  • Optimize resource planning, utilization, pyramid structures, and delivery models to maximize efficiency and scalability.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, L&D, and Business Leaders to enable demand-supply alignment and future-ready capability building.
  • Improve productivity through process redesign, tooling, automation, and data insights.
  • Ensure delivery teams operate with optimal spans, engagement models, and capacity utilization.

Quality, Compliance & Governance

  • Establish and sustain quality systems, compliance frameworks, and governance models, including ISO and client-specific requirements.
  • Ensure consistent execution of quality maturity assessments, operational reviews, and health metrics.
  • Interface with senior leadership and global stakeholders to provide transparent reporting on operational performance and risk.

Data, Automation & Decision Enablement

  • Institutionalize a data-driven, KPI-oriented mindset across operations.
  • Enable leadership with actionable insights, dashboards, and performance analytics.
  • Drive synergy between process workflows and automation to enhance speed, accuracy, and scalability.

Culture, Engagement & Sustainability

  • Build a strong process excellence culture, encouraging ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Conceptualize and lead initiatives such as ideathons, improvement programs, and operational forums.
  • Own PharmaACE's sustainability and SBTi commitments, ensuring alignment with client and global standards.

Qualifications

  • MBA in Operations / Strategy / General Management or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of experience in operations, process excellence, or transformation roles, with at least 5 years managing large cost centers or global delivery operations.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional, multi-location teams.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
