Designation: Manager / Senior Manager New Product Development (NPD)
Location: Mumbai / Remote (India)

Role Objective
The Manager / Senior Manager NPD will own end-to-end new product development for Carmesi across feminine hygiene, hair removal, and underarm hygiene categories. This role is responsible for identifying white spaces, translating consumer needs into winning products, and executing launches by working closely with manufacturers, suppliers, packaging vendors, quality teams, and internal stakeholders. The person will be accountable for speed-to-market, cost structures, quality benchmarks, and successful
commercial launches across online and offline channels.
Key Categories Under Ownership:-
Feminine Hygiene: Sanitary pads, disposable period panties, intimate hygiene accessories
Hair Removal: Face razors, body razors, wax strips
Underarm Hygiene: Roll-ons, underarm sprays, sweat control products
Key Responsibilities
- New Product Development & Innovation Own the end-to-end NPD lifecycle from concept ideation to product launch and post-launch optimization Identify consumer insights, gaps, and trends in fem hygiene, hair removal, and underarm care categories Build strong product briefs (consumer problem, positioning, claims, pricing, margin targets) Work closely with Brand, Marketing, E-commerce and Sales teams to ensure product- market fit
- Manufacturer & Supplier Management Directly manage contract manufacturers, suppliers, packaging vendors, and formulation partners Lead negotiations on costs, MOQs, timelines, quality parameters, and exclusivity where applicable Source new vendors and build a robust manufacturing ecosystem across India (and international suppliers where relevant) Drive continuous cost optimization without compromising on quality and brand promise
- Product Quality, Compliance & Claims Ensure all products meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards (BIS, CDSCO, labeling norms, etc. where applicable) Own product claims, performance benchmarks, and validation (e.g., skin safety, dermatologically tested, leak protection, comfort, etc.) Work with QA teams to define QC processes, testing protocols, and audits at manufacturing sites
- Launch Planning & Scale-up Own launch timelines, pilot runs, scale-up plans, and inventory readiness Coordinate with Supply Chain and Planning teams to ensure on-time availability for launches on Amazon, Nykaa, Purplle, D2C, and offline Track post-launch performance and iterate on product improvements basis consumer feedback and data
- Commercial & Business Ownership Build product P&L logic including COGS, margins, pricing architecture, and long- term cost roadmaps Ensure new launches meet gross margin and profitability targets Support Business and Category teams with product inputs for platform-specific strategies and GTM plans
Ideal Candidate Profile
812+ years of experience in New Product Development / Product Management / Sourcing / Innovation roles
Experience in FMCG, personal care, fem hygiene, beauty, wellness, or hygiene categories preferred
Strong hands-on experience working with manufacturers, OEMs, and suppliers in India
Track record of launching multiple successful consumer products from scratch
Strong understanding of costing, packaging, materials, formulations, and production processes
Ability to balance speed, quality, cost, and brand positioning
Entrepreneurial, execution-focused mindset suited to a fast-growing D2C + marketplace brand
