- Develop and implement comprehensive safety management systems and policies tailored to project requirements in line with national and international safety standards.
- Lead safety risk assessments and hazard identification processes for ongoing and upcoming projects, ensuring all potential risks are effectively mitigated.
- Oversee compliance with regulatory requirements, ensuring all safety practices meet or exceed governmental and industry standards.
- Drive safety training initiatives and continuous improvement programs to enhance safety awareness and capability among project teams.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions swiftly and effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, construction, operations, and contractors to integrate safety considerations into all stages of project execution.
- Champion the development and promotion of a strong safety culture by engaging employees at all levels, encouraging transparent communication of safety concerns and best practices.
- Manage emergency preparedness and response plans, coordinating drills and ensuring readiness to handle any safety incidents or emergencies.
- Utilize data analytics and safety performance metrics to monitor safety trends, generate reports, and recommend strategic improvements to senior leadership.
- Provide expert guidance and mentorship to safety officers and junior team members, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.
- Lead the evaluation and adoption of innovative safety technologies and tools to enhance overall safety effectiveness on projects.
- Interface with regulatory bodies, external auditors, and stakeholders during safety inspections and compliance audits.
- Ensure effective documentation and record-keeping of all safety activities, incidents, and compliance reports as per organizational and statutory requirements.
- Support project management teams in aligning safety goals with project timelines and budgets without compromising safety standards.

- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards applicable to the Power/Energy sector.
- Expertise in risk assessment methodologies, safety audits, and incident investigation techniques.

- Familiarity with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) management systems such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
- Competency in emergency response planning and implementation.
- Understanding of construction and operational hazards specific to power generation projects. - Experience with safety training program design and delivery. - Ability to interpret and implement statutory and regulatory safety requirements.

Qualifications
Education Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Safety, Mechanical, Electrical, or related disciplines) is mandatory. - Postgraduate qualification or specialized safety certifications will be advantageous.
Experience
12-15 years of progressive experience in Safety Management within the Power or Energy sector, with significant exposure to large-scale projects and multidisciplinary teams.
