Job description
The Manager Raw Material Store is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end management of raw material warehousing operations, ensuring proper storage, inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, and uninterrupted material availability for production. The role ensures adherence to quality standards applicable to medical device manufacturing and maintains efficient store processes and controls.
Key Responsibilities
Store Operations Management
- Manage receipt, inspection coordination, storage, and issuance of raw materials.
- Ensure proper material identification, labeling, segregation, and traceability.
- Maintain FIFO / FEFO practices as applicable.
- Monitor storage conditions (temperature, humidity, cleanliness) as per material requirements.
- Prevent material damage, contamination, or mix-ups.
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP system.
- Ensure real-time stock updates for receipts and issues.
- Conduct periodic cycle counts and annual physical inventory.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain optimum inventory levels to avoid stock-outs or overstocking.
Regulatory & Quality Compliance
- Ensure compliance with QMS and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain documentation related to GRN, material movement, stock registers, and logs.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs related to stores and material handling.
- Maintain traceability of batch-wise materials.
Coordination & Planning
- Coordinate with Procurement, Production, QA, and Planning teams.
- Ensure timely material availability for production schedules.
- Support material status reporting and planning inputs.
- Manage vendor material returns and rejections.
Team Management
- Supervise store personnel and allocate responsibilities.
- Train team on SOPs, GMP practices, and safety procedures.
- Monitor team performance and discipline.
Safety & Housekeeping
- Ensure safe material handling practices.
- Maintain 5S standards and warehouse discipline.
- Ensure compliance with EHS and workplace safety norms.
Systems & Tools
- ERP / SAP or equivalent inventory management system
- Barcode / Inventory tracking systems
- MS Office

Educational Qualification
- Bachelors degree in supply chain / Logistics / Commerce / Engineering
