About The Opportunity
Ellucian is seeking a Manager, Professional Services to lead quality strategy and execution across a portfolio of SaaS implementations. This role oversees functional, full stack test engineers and quality professionals responsible for UI, API, performance, and security testing within complex, multi project delivery environments.
You will drive modern quality engineering practices, ensure strong alignment between requirements and validation, and provide executive visibility into release readiness and risk exposure. This is a leadership role for someone who understands both automation architecture and delivery governance, and can scale quality practices across distributed teams
Where you will make an impact
Lead Quality Strategy Across a Portfolio
- Own quality outcomes across multiple concurrent SaaS implementations.
- Govern standards for automation, validation, and release readiness.
- Ensure traceability between requirements, test coverage, and client acceptance.
- Translate quality metrics into clear risk insights for executive stakeholders.
Lead and Develop Teams
- Manage and develop functional and full stack Quality engineers working across UI, API, performance, and security domains.
- Drive consistent use of tooling, reporting dashboards, and quality metrics.
- Set clear expectations around accountability, technical rigor, and delivery discipline.
AI Enabled Quality Acceleration
- Evaluate and implement AI assisted test generation, test maintenance, and coverage optimization strategies.
- Leverage AI driven insights to identify defect trends, risk hotspots, and release readiness concerns across multiple engagements.
- Promote responsible use of AI tools within automation frameworks while ensuring data privacy, compliance, and client trust.
Embed Continuous Testing in Delivery
- Integrate automation into CI CD pipelines across cloud environments.
- Ensure performance and security testing are embedded early in implementation lifecycles.
- Promote shift left and risk based testing strategies across engagements.
- Ensure UAT remains acceptance focused and supported by validated coverage.
Partner Across Functions
- Collaborate with Project Managers, DevOps, Product, and client stakeholders.
- Provide quality oversight during scoping, planning, and milestone readiness.
- Serve as escalation point for quality risks and release concerns.
Drive Operational and Financial Performance
- Align team capacity and skill allocation to project demand.
- Ensure quality engineering effort supports delivery timelines and margin goals.
- Improve predictability through standardized controls and reporting.
What You Will Bring
- 14+ years of experience in Quality Engineering.
- 3+ years leading quality engineering teams with people management.
- Direct experience in Professional Services, Consulting, or client facing SaaS implementation environments is required.
- Experience leveraging AI assisted development or automation tools in modern quality engineering environments.
- Demonstrable deep hands on experience with modern quality engineering practices.
- Strong understanding of continuous testing pipelines.
- Experience operating in SaaS or enterprise software delivery environments.
- Proven ability to scale drive automation frameworks across multiple projects.
- Strong executive communication skills and ability to articulate release risk clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education technology environments.
- Background in consulting or Professional Services delivery.
- Experience leading performance and security testing initiatives at scale.
- Experience driving quality transformation or observability initiatives.
