Magick Home is looking to hire a Manager - Product Design to be based at Bengaluru location.
Role Overview:
The Manager Product Design will be responsible for driving end-to-end product design for modular kitchens, furniture, and interior solutions. This role combines industrial design expertise, product strategy, and spatial curation, ensuring that all designs balance aesthetics, functionality, manufacturability, and cost efficiency while meeting retail and customer expectations.
The role requires close collaboration with manufacturing, sourcing, retail, marketing, and execution teams to deliver frugal, scalable, and market-ready products.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Product Design & Development
- Lead the design and development of modular kitchen systems, furniture, and interior products aligned with Magick Home's brand and retail strategy.
- Translate customer insights, business requirements, and market trends into innovative, functional, and scalable product designs.
- Own technical detailing, specifications, and drawings to ensure seamless transition from design to manufacturing.
Design Strategy & Innovation
- Contribute to product strategy, including range planning, material selection, finishes, and modular configurations.
- Drive design standardization to support scalability across retail outlets while allowing customization where required.
- Ensure all designs are cost-conscious (frugal) without compromising on quality or user experience.
Prototyping & Manufacturing Interface
- Oversee prototyping, validation, and testing of new products and design iterations.
- Work closely with manufacturing partners and vendors to ensure design for manufacturing (DFM) and ease of installation.
- Support continuous improvement of existing products based on feedback from execution and retail teams.
Retail & Spatial Design
- Support retail and display design, including showroom layouts, product presentation, and spatial planning.
- Ensure product designs integrate seamlessly into store environments and customer homes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, sourcing, operations, and execution teams to ensure alignment from concept to launch.
- Provide design inputs for new product launches, retail rollouts, and marketing collateral.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Furniture Design, or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience of 8+ years in modular furniture, kitchens, interiors, or retail product design.
- Experience working in manufacturing-oriented or retail-led design environments is highly preferred.
