Job Description

A. Position Overview

The Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining applications. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of application architecture principles and best practices, with experience in cloud-based technologies for migration and integration, query optimization, maintenance of Databases.

D. Key Result Areas

  • Implement and Optimize Operational data
  • Maintain Master Data Management
  • Prepare and Organize for Big Data
  • Integral Part of BI initiatives
  • Design and implement database in accordance to end users information needs and views
  • Define and implement database schemas and normalization
  • Develop, implement, and optimize stored procedures and functions using T-SQL
  • Review and interpret ongoing business report requirements
  • Develop procedures and scripts for data migration
  • Provide data management support to users
  • Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases
  • Prepare documentations and specifications for database design, coding, and testing
  • Handle common database procedures such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
  • Profile server resource usage, and optimize and tweak as necessary
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
  • Analyse existing SQL queries for performance improvements
  • Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity
  • Resolve database-related issues and provide solutions in a timely manner
  • Stay updated with recent technological advancements and industry trends in database development
  • Complex query understanding
  • Follows all required company policies and practices relating to the System Development Life Cycle.

Technical

  • Min 10 years experience in MS SQL Server, Teradata BI Tools, SSIS, SSRS, ETL
  • Good to have: PostgreSQL
  • Knowledge of JSON and PostgreSQL support for JSON
  • PostGIS proficiency and grasp of core geospatial concepts
  • Ability to efficiently write database code without compromising data quality, privacy or security
  • Knowledge of database design principles, query optimization, index management, integrity checks, statistics and isolation levels
  • Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to evaluate alternative solutions and/or workarounds
