Job Overview
The Manager Manufacturing Engineering will lead the Manufacturing Engineering function for a fully backward-integrated Room Air Conditioner Plant, overseeing greenfield project execution, capacity and process enhancements, cycle time optimization, and production line improvements. This role demands deep expertise in plant engineering, maintenance, and manufacturing process design to ensure 100% in-house production capability across sub-shops, from sheet metal to final assembly.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Project Execution
- Having expertise in leading greenfield /brownfield project from concept to commissioning, you will ensure timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Develop and execute capacity enhancement plans to meet market demand and business growth targets.
- Drive process innovation and implement best-in-class manufacturing practices.
- Manufacturing Process & Line Optimization
- Design and optimize assembly lines for improved productivity, ergonomics, and safety.
- Implement cycle balancing techniques to minimize bottlenecks and improve throughput.
- Lead line enhancement projects to integrate automation, improve takt time, and reduce waste.
- Backward Integration & Sub-Shop Management
- Oversee manufacturing engineering for in-house sub-shops (sheet metal, plastic injection molding, heat exchanger fabrication, powder coating, etc.).
- Ensure seamless integration between sub-shops and final assembly for smooth production flow.
- Installation & Engineering of Plant Machinery /Utilities
- Manage installation of utilities, HVAC systems, and critical plant infrastructure.
- Drive energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production teams to ensure manufacturability of new designs.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) with robust process planning and tooling development.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with ISO, safety, and environmental standards.
- Promote a culture of zero accidents and continuous improvement.

Essential Attributes
Process engineering & optimization
Project management (PMP certification is a plus)
Proven track record in greenfield project execution and backward integration.
Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, and automation technologies.
Hands-on experience in plant maintenance and engineering.
