Role Overview:

The IPDRG Medical Coding Manager oversees a team of inpatient coders, ensuring precise application of ICD10-CM and ICD10-PCS coding guidelines for Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG) assignments. This role is vital for maintaining revenue integrity, regulatory compliance, audit preparedness, and documentation quality.

Role : Manager - Coding Operations- IP DRG

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor inpatient DRG coding teams to meet productivity and quality benchmarks.
• Ensure accurate ICD10-CM/PCS coding and MSDRG assignment for inpatient records.
• Conduct internal audits and implement corrective measures to maintain compliance.
• Collaborate with CDI specialists and client teams to resolve documentation queries.
• Monitor KPIs such as coding accuracy, turnaround time, and denial rates.
• Stay updated on CMS regulations, coding guidelines, and payer requirements.
• Prepare and present performance reports to senior leadership.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and training programs for coders.
• Ability to analyze, investigate and organize ideas in recognizing, defining and formulating solutions to problems
• Ability to effectively interface with all levels of coding and auditing personnel (internal / external) and customers

Your Expertise:

• Must be CCS / CPC/CIC certified
• Must have handled multiple clients and teams
• Must have 9+ yrs experience in Medical coding with 4 years in IP DRG coding
• In-depth technical knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, CPT coding conventions, DRG and APC assignment, medical terminology and anatomy and physiology
• Should possess excellent communication skills
