Overview

The role is critical to ensure that engineering teams have access to the right knowledge, tools, documents, drawings, templates and resources to perform their design tasks in a standard, effective and efficient way. Additionally the role will support the EMEA Engineering teams to improve the skills and competencies of the technical personnel of our BU's by supporting local teams to assess and identify gaps on skills of our engineering talent and support them in developing and maintaining the capability enablement materials (SOPs, training courses etc) through standard Document Management Systems.


Responsibilities

  • Drive regular update and maintenance of Engineering standards for each discipline while balancing all competing and evolving mandates (internal and OEMs supported)
  • Update Foods/Bev Engineering standards to incorporate into RFQs & generic specs
  • Implement effective strategies for retrieving critical information quickly, making sure engineers can easily access the knowledge they need.
  • Manage Engineering Global Brain (repository of standards, best practices and knowledge sharing platform)
  • Own, maintain and standardize of all tender process template documentation (contracts, URS and project/supplier assessment) to elevate the quality of the process and enable seamless benchmarking
  • Encourage knowledge sharing among engineering teams through internal platforms, discussion forums, and collaborative tools.
  • Help document and disseminate engineering best practices across teams to ensure continuous improvement and consistency.
  • Work with senior engineers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and other stakeholders to capture tacit knowledge (experience-based knowledge) and convert it into usable formats.
  • Develop clear and detailed documentation on engineering processes, workflows, and methodologies to ensure standardization and training for new engineers.
  • Manage and support the tools and systems used for knowledge management, such as document management systems (DMS), content management systems (CMS), or collaborative platforms like Confluence or SharePoint.
  • Develop and maintain document control coding for all project documentation.
  • Maintain historic library of contracts to support standardization, per country
  • Execute complete RFP process, following GP guidelines and Engineering requirements (small-mid size projects)
  • Own, maintain version control and standardize generic packages documentation (e.g. utilities P&IDs) to enable faster execution and incorporation of latest best practice or new requirements by the Eng Design teams.
  • Support local engineering leads to identify training needs (through skill matrix) with focus on facilitating/enabling deployment of a multi-year capability building plan.
  • Set up a centralized global engineering academy document control system for all training content across both sectors inclusive of maintaining live list of trainers, document and system owners to support capability program

Qualifications

  • Min 7 years experience in project engineering (design, development, testing, commissioning etc).
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of engineering works, services, assets and equipments demonstrated by a suitable College degree in either Civil, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Working knowledge of KM systems such as Confluence, SharePoint, Document Management Systems (DMS), or collaborative platforms like Microsoft Teams or Slack.
  • Experience in technical writing, including creating engineering documentation, manuals, procedures, and best practices.
  • Excel & Office package knowledge
