Job Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Operations

  • Own server and storage operations for Windows platforms; ensure high availability and performance.
  • Administer Active Directory (users, groups, OUs, GPOs) and Local Site AD; maintain clean identity hygiene.
  • Manage Windows services including WSUS, Print, DHCP, Websense (or successor web security platforms).
  • Operate and optimize VMware vSphere environments (vCenter, ESXi) with HA, DRS, vMotion.
  • Administer NetApp (or equivalent) storagecapacity, performance, snapshots, replication, and data protection.
  • Maintain robust file server structurespermissions, access control, quotas, and backup/restore procedures.
  • Implement and maintain server and network monitoring tools; ensure proactive alerting and trend analysis.
  • Oversee LAN, WAN, and Wireless networks with appropriate segmentation, QoS, and security.
  • Maintain and monitor core application servers, e.g., NX, CATIA, FEA, Tally, Antivirus, and other critical engineering/enterprise workloads.

Security, Governance & Compliance

  • Implement IT security policies aligned to ISO 27001/ISMS and Magna ITGC; enforce standards and SOPs.
  • Conduct periodic checks for IT security violations, drive remediation and preventive controls.
  • Ensure IT documentation is current and complete to meet ITGC and ISO/ISMS audit requirements.
  • Coordinate and support internal/external audits, close findings on time with evidence.
  • Maintain endpoint/server hardening baselines, patch compliance (OS/Apps), AV/EDR coverage, and backup success rates.

Service Management & Support

  • Establish and manage SLAs, OLAs, incident/problem/change processes (ITIL-aligned).
  • Ensure effective L1L3 escalation paths; personally own P1/P2 incidents and postincident reviews.
  • Provide regular IT project and operations updates to the Head of Department and business stakeholders.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and upskill the onsite IT team; provide onthejob training and development plans.
  • Plan resource allocation, shifts/coverage, and succession for critical skills (AD, VMware, storage, network).

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate with OEMs/partners to resolve IT issues and deliver projects; manage contracts and AMCs.
  • Negotiate SOWs, monitor performance, and validate deliverables against SLAs and compliance needs.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, finance, HR, and corporate IT on priorities and roadmaps.

Projects & Financials

  • Lead infrastructure and security projects (upgrades, refresh, migrations, expansions).
  • Build and manage IT budgets (CAPEX/OPEX); track spending, TCO, and savings initiatives.
  • Prepare business cases and asset lifecycle plans; ensure accurate asset inventory and license compliance.

Qualification, Experience & Skills And Competencies

(Min & Max, industry)

  • 1520 years overall IT experience with significant time in infrastructure operations and team leadership.
  • Demonstrated handson depth in Windows Server/AD, VMware vSphere, NetApp/storage, networking (LAN/WAN/WiFi), and backup/DR.
  • Proven track record managing audits (ISO/ISMS/ITGC), incident response, and change management.
  • Experience running IT for engineering/manufacturing environments hosting apps like NX, CATIA, FEA, Tally is highly desirable.
  • Master's / bachelor's degree in computer science / IT / BCS (or equivalent).
  • Preferred Certifications (added advantage):
  • Microsoft (e.g., MCITP/MCSE or modern Microsoft 365/Azure equivalents)
  • VMware (VCP/VCAP)
  • NetApp (NCDA/NCIE)
  • ITIL Foundation or higher
  • Security (e.g., ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, CompTIA Security+) is a plus.
