How will you make an impact in this role

As a Manager in Business Regulatory Change Management Governance, you will lead the end-to-end governance of regulatory change projects and other compliance metrics for AEBC while setting the strategic direction, oversight, and execution of regulatory change for AEBC. You will champion a culture of compliance in line with the Banks strategic growth objectives. This role requires strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to influence at all levels to deliver timely, robust regulatory outcomes. This role is critical for supporting business in managing risk, ensuring strong controls over day-to-day activities, issue management and timely delivery on regulatory mandates.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to.

  • Governance Leadership: Develop and implement structured governance processes to support the Bank's regulatory change management strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise compliance culture and regulatory expectations.
  • Regulatory Oversight: Oversee all regulatory activities impacting AEBC, ensuring that requirements are tracked, managed, and closed within defined timelines.
  • Project Portfolio Management: Manage a large and complex inventory of regulatory change projects, prioritizing resources and driving effective delivery across multiple business units.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration with Compliance, Legal, Technology, and Business teams to resolve issues and accelerate regulatory implementation.
  • Governance Forums & Escalation: Lead regular governance forums, project review meetings, and escalation processes to ensure alignment and timely closure of open items.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Create and maintain transparent dashboards and reporting mechanisms for open, aged, and closed projects, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Documentation & Audit Support: Ensure comprehensive documentation and robust audit trails for all regulatory change initiatives, supporting both internal and external audits and regulatory inspections
  • Stakeholder Communication: Present updates, analytics, and strategic insights to senior management, the Board, and regulatory authorities, including risks and progress.
  • Process Improvement: Identify process gaps and lead initiatives to enhance project governance, compliance controls, and operational efficiency, leveraging technology and best practices.
  • Training & Awareness: Champion training and awareness programs to reinforce compliance culture and regulatory knowledge across the organization.
  • Regulatory Intelligence: Stay abreast of regulatory developments, industry trends, and emerging risks, proactively adapting strategy and processes to ensure ongoing compliance.

Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate must be a highly organized, self-starter and a strong communicator with a proven track record of influencing across a matrix organization.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency and understanding of leading tools and technology to run governance processes efficiently.
  • Expertise in project planning and governance tools.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, complex, multi-BU projects and influence outcomes in a matrixed environment.
  • Good communication & collaboration skills ability to establish relationships, influence decisions, and to encourage matrixed, cross-functional teams to deliver on shared objectives
  • Confidence in decision-making in sophisticated & ambiguous situations comfortable troubleshooting + aligning conflicting interests in a professional outcome-focused manner
  • Proven ability to demonstrate driving success in an agile environment
  • Experience of working with senior level partners, and of being able to lead and influence without direct authority.

Academic Background/ Functional Skills/Capabilities:

  • Master's in business, Finance, Law, Compliance, or related field.
  • 5+ years experience in regulatory change management, project governance, or compliance within a regulated financial institution.
  • Understanding of Indian banking regulations and regulatory landscape preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, project planning tools, and data analytics.
  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
