We are looking for a Design Manager who has actually executed projects, not just designed them on paper.
This role is for someone who has led end-to-end interior projects from wall paneling to loose furniture (FF&E) and understands how design decisions translate into manufacturing, CNC production, timelines, and site realities.
If your experience stops at concept decks or mood boards, this role is not for you.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end interior design projects across:
Wall paneling & architectural detailing
Built-in furniture
Loose furniture / FF&E
Own the entire design lifecycle:
Client brief concept detailing production site execution handover
Translate design intent into production-ready drawings and specifications
Work closely with:
CNC teams
Factory production
Vendors & site teams
Think design + manufacturing together, not in silos
Review and approve shop drawings, prototypes, mockups, and samples
Ensure design feasibility, cost control, and execution accuracy
Maintain design quality while respecting manufacturing constraints and timelines
Guide junior designers with practical, execution-first thinking
Mandatory Experience & Skills (Non-Negotiable)
10+ years of professional experience in interior design / furniture design
Proven track record of executed projects, not just conceptual work
Hands-on experience with:
Wall paneling systems
Custom furniture
Loose furniture / FF&E packages
Strong design thinking + production thinking
CNC exposure is mandatory:
Ability to think in terms of CNC constraints, tooling, joinery, tolerances
Experience working with CNC-manufactured furniture or components
Deep understanding of:
Materials, finishes, hardware
Joinery logic
Cost vs design trade-offs
Ability to bridge the gap between design studio, factory floor, and site
Preferred Background
Experience working with:
Furniture factories
Design-build firms
High-end residential / hospitality / commercial interiors
Prior exposure to manufacturing-led or factory-integrated design environments
Comfortable taking ownership and accountability, not just coordination
What This Role Is NOT
Not a pure concept designer role
Not a styling-only or dcor-only position
Not suitable for candidates without execution and production exposure
What We're Looking For
Someone who:
Thinks like a designer
Decides like a manufacturer
Executes like a project owner
If you have spent the last decade actually building what you design, we want to speak to you.
