Position Overview

TheManager - Fixed Asset Accounting and Lease Managementis a country-level specialist role responsible for end-to-end lease accounting and fixed asset accounting across Blue Dart Express India. The role ensures accurate accounting, strong controls, regulatory compliance, a nd audit readiness under IFRS and Ind AS, while coordinating closely with regional Finance, Real Estate, Procurement, Operations, and Group Finance teams.

This role carries high governance and audit exposure and plays a critical role in safeguarding the integrity of financial statements for an asset-heavy, multi-location logistics organization.


Job Purpose

To ensure accurate, compliant, and timely accounting of leases and fixed assets at a country level, while strengthening controls, improving data integrity, supporting audits, and enabling disciplined financial governance across Blue Dart's extensive physical and leased asset base.


Key Roles & Responsibilities


Lease Accounting

  • Own country-level lease accounting for both Group reporting (IFRS) and local statutory reporting (Ind AS).
  • Ensure all lease contracts (existing, renewed, and new) are accurately captured in the lease accounting system and local books with correct accounting flow.
  • Review lease agreements for appropriate accounting treatment, including ROU assets, lease liabilities, modifications, and renewals.
  • Coordinate with regional teams to ensure timely execution and renewal of lease agreements in line with approval matrices.
  • Certify that all leases entered into the system fully comply with Blue Dart and DHL approval frameworks.
  • Perform reconciliations between lease systems, general ledger, and disclosures for IFRS and Ind AS reporting.
  • Act as the primary finance interface for statutory auditors, internal auditors, and Group auditors on lease-related matters.
  • Drive conceptualization, enhancement, and governance of lease accounting tools and processes for local reporting.

Fixed Asset Accounting

  • Own capitalization, accounting, and control of fixed assets in compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Ensure timely capitalization of CWIP and monitor delays in asset commissioning.
  • Oversee reconciliation between fixed asset registers, sub-ledgers, and general ledger.
  • Coordinate periodic physical verification of fixed assets across locations and ensure timely closure of discrepancies.
  • Review and approve asset creation, transfers, retirements, and depreciation set-up in ERP systems (SAP / Navision).
  • Ensure accuracy of depreciation calculations as part of month-end and year-end close.

Governance, Controls & Audit

  • Strengthen preventive and detective controls across lease and fixed asset accounting.
  • Ensure audit-ready documentation, schedules, and disclosures at all times.
  • Proactively identify accounting, compliance, and data risks and drive mitigation actions.
  • Support finance leadership with insights on asset utilization, lease commitments, and accounting impacts.

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with Real Estate, Procurement, Operations, Regional Finance, and IT teams.
  • Coordinate with DHL Group Finance on accounting interpretations, reporting requirements, and system alignment.
  • Act as a trusted finance partner in discussions involving lease structuring, renewals, and asset decisions.


Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Essential: Bachelor's degree in Commerce / Accounting / Finance
  • Preferred: Chartered Accountant / Cost Accountant or equivalent professional qualification

Experience

  • 7 - 10 years of relevant experience infixed asset accounting and lease accounting
  • Prior experience inasset-heavy, multi-location organizationssuch as logistics, infrastructure, manufacturing, or large services
  • Strong exposure toIFRS and Ind AS, audits, and ERP systems (SAP / Navision)
