Manager - Enterprise Services Finance (B35)

Description

This Manager - Enterprise Services Finance will report into Director - Finance and will be leading financial planning, results analysis, and decision support for Global Risk & Compliance. This Manager will also partner closely with the Guardian Finance and PMO teams and play a critical role liaising across the Finance organization to provide reporting, analysis, and insights to senior leadership. Manager will also lead a high-performing analyst to drive consistent OpEx management processes and reporting.

The Global Risk & Compliance Organization (GRC) is an independent risk management function, led by the Chief Risk Officer, with the objective of ensuring that American Express operates in a safe, sound and fully compliant manner within all applicable regulatory expectations. GRC creates and maintains the overall risk management framework, performs independent risk management assessments, and monitor risks.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to build relationships with leaders across organizations. The successful candidate will have a strategic and analytical mindset, be comfortable collaborating with and influencing colleagues, work closely with leaders under tight timelines, and have the aptitude to drive change and process improvement.

Responsibilities:


. Drive the financial planning, close control, results analysis, and management reporting for GRC

.Lead publishing of detailed OpEx results (Financial and Headcount view) within GRC OpEx Dashboard for all SLT and SLT-1 GRC leaders

.Detailed review of GRC OpEx along with variance analytics, trend analysis, HC tracking and commentary to cater to diverse customer requirements.

.Perform root cause analysis on the type of queries received and respond appropriately

.Identify risks and opportunities across GRC

.Understand business drivers & contribute to continuous improvement by expanding on our reporting capabilities through automation, consolidation of metrics / parameters

.Ensure that all deadlines are continually met, and adequate controls are maintained over the processes to ensure integrity of the information

.Ensure controls & compliance with prevailing policies & procedures

.Stakeholder relationship management, present to and influence a wide range of audiences

.Ability to work across multiple time zones

.Build and maintain relationships across business and finance teams

.Advise GRC leadership on hiring, external engagements, and other operating expense management decisions

.Leverage new capabilities to drive improvements that enhance efficiency and effectiveness

.Support Project Guardian and other Risk Management tracking, as needed

.Perform ad hoc analysis to support business and finance objectives, as needed

Critical Factors to Success:

.Accurately deliver on LOB/Segment P&L & variance analysis

.Ability to create presentation for senior management / executives

.Experience with data driven insights for senior leadership

.Pro-actively develop meaningful data insights/trends to enable finance decision support to our customer's/business partners/LFO's for more effective planning, forecasting & investment decisions activities

.Lead the development, implementation & maintenance of automated OpEx management solutions and capabilities through enterprise technologies such as TM1, Oracle etc.

.Leverage functional knowledge to identify the appropriate business drivers impacting the outcomes in financial planning & Investment management including scenario & sensitivity capabilities

.Ability to work well under pressure and to balance multiple priorities with tight deadlines

.Excellent communication skills with all levels of the organization - verbal and written

.Technical bent of mind to drive automated solutions and process efficiency

.Strong analytical skills with the ability to undertake cause effect analysis

.Demonstrate strong partnership, collaboration, and people management skills

Qualifications
. Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of experience in Finance or a related role, Master's degree preferred

.Prior experience with planning & forecasting and driving financial insights preferred

.Passion for developing and driving partnerships across multiple functions across the enterprise

.Knowledge of AXP Annual Planning Process, Long Range Planning (LRP) & YE Accruals Process

.Knowledge of procurement management processes and tools a plus

Knowledge of Platforms:

.Advanced MS office suits such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint

.Ability to use platforms & tools such as TM1, Oracle, OBIEE, Ariba, Tableau, Power BI will be preferred
