Responsibilities
Cost Estimation and Budgeting for all MEP services
- Review and validate QS and Estimation (E) work for all MEP services to ensure compliance with regional standards and project requirements.
- Reviewing and correcting any discrepancies in the QS and Estimation data for all MEP services provided by the QS & E Team of BU / region / cost consultants.
- Ensuring the quantity-based budget for all MEP services is accurately summarized and compared with previous version of Budget / Business Plan, addressing variances.
- Identifying cost-related risks and summarizing budget assumptions, specifications, and amenities for MEP services across all projects in all regions.
- Conducting value engineering workshops to optimize costs during the concept phase and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
Cost Monitoring and Management at Construction Stage for all MEP services for the Projects
- Analyzing drawings at various stage of Project (Architectural, Structural, MEP) to ensure cost control is maintained across all aspects of the project.
- Tracking approved budgets (L2), actual costs, and committed data related to all MEP services across all projects in all regions..
- Reviewing and validating quantity variances at the GFC stage and evaluating their cost impact.
- Leading value engineering workshops to resolve issues and ensuring signed-off budgets are adhered to.
- Reviewing and validating CTC reports, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Monitoring and managing change orders, extra items, quantity variations, claims, and free issue materials.
- Performing random bill checks and addressing discrepancies with corrective actions.
Change Management & Standardization related to MEP services
- Review and validate change processes related to budgets, work orders, technical specifications, and other key project parameters.
- Monitor implementation of strategies for standardization of QS and Estimation formats, templates, and processes across the region
Qualification
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in electrical / mechanical / MEP Engineering
Experience/Exposure
10-12 years in Quantity Surveying and Estimation for MEP services, with proven experience across project stages (feasibility, tender, construction).
Expertise in MEP services cost control, budget tracking, value engineering, and optimization, with familiarity in local market conditions, material and labor availability, and reference rates from similar projects.
Note: The Typical MEP services for Real Estate includes below key works:
Electrical high side & low side works for Buildings - Residential / Commercial Low Rise / Mid Rise / High Rise buildings, Townships including earthing, lighting protection, DG power backup, LV works, Data and voice networking etc.
Plumbing and Fire Fighting works for all types of buildings, CFO requirements etc.
Airconditioning, Ventilation, Pressurization systems etc.
Elevators, Escalators, Mechanical Parking systems for the projects
Sewage Treatment Plant, Water treatment plants, Organic waste converter
Special services like BMS, Solar power, Security systems, Green building related MEP works etc.
