A Manager, Engineering IDR Active Response plans and directs all aspects of development, maintenance and sustaining activities within their teams. This means that they ensure all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization's established policies and objectives. They report into a Sr. Manager Engineering. They work closely with IDR Leadership, Product Management and the Security Services(S2) to ensure their teams are building what our customers and users need in a timely fashion. Managers have a large scope of leadership and can have multiple managers and/or leads reporting to them. Managers can also have specialized subject matter expertise within the technical areas their teams work in.

What Youll Do

  • Lead, mentor and manage team(s) that will deliver high quality, innovative software solutions, in collaboration with stakeholders such as architects, developers, product managers, CSEs and prod support people.
  • Establish best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment.
  • Drive continuous improvements in team processes, development methodologies, and engineering culture.
  • Ensure timely delivery of project milestones while maintaining technical excellence.
  • Support the team by providing direction, clarity and removing obstacles..
  • Execute the Product roadmap
    • Ensure teams are highly motivated, performing well, and delivering work on time.
    • Remove any blockers preventing teams from getting their work done.
    • Make sure each team is clear on the objectives and goals they are striving to achieve.
    • Work with team members to deliver the key features
    • Work with Architects to define and execute on the company's technical roadmap.
  • Implement the IDR Department and Team Responsibilities.
    • Oversee the full software development life cycle.
    • Ensure their teams is following ISMS regulations

      • Career and personal development coaching
    • Execute administrative responsibilities
      • Manage employee compensation and vacation time
      • Manage and approve conference and training budgets
      • Involved in helping set and manage the Directorate level budget
      • Has strong financial management skills
    • Recruitment
      • Lead recruitment efforts for their team(s) for both full-time and co-op employees.
      • Be a key contributor to planning, hiring and recruitment strategy for their teams
  • Mentor each team member; help them grow their technical and leadership skills.
  • Establish career development plans and achievable goals for your reports and support their ongoing growth.
  • Drive continuous development process improvements.
  • Build collaborative relationships with other teams and stakeholders within the organization.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • 8-10 years of professional experience as a Software Developer with at-least 2 years in a management role.
  • Experience consists of projects written in backend JavaScript.
  • Strong experience consists of leading/managing a team of 5 or more Software Developers using JavaScript ,Python or Go.
  • Experience consists of directly impacting the architecture and design of large scale, distributed systems
  • Management-level familiarity with the AWS ecosystem, including data storage and retrieval, serverless computing, optimization and associated costs. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Experience leading Agile development teams, preferably with formal Agile training
  • A clear history of learning and skills development. Regularly helps software developers develop their skills in a variety of ways.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in backend systems which support wide-array of mission critical tasks.
  • Experience leading teams developing backend of SOAR servers.
  • Prior experience doing development in a security product.

The base salary range for this job family is 3,222,000 to 15,015,000 INR annually. This range reflects the expected base pay for this position and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, and location. In addition to base salary, Arctic Wolf offers variable incentive compensation, new hire equity grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
