About the Role

Are you ready to accelerate the digital commerce engine behind a global leader in scientific innovation WatersisseekingaEngineering Manager - eCommerce, a hands-on people and delivery leader responsible for executing high-quality eCommerce and eProcurement solutions as part of Waters global digital commerce platform

This is more than a delivery role -it'syour opportunity to shape the future of how customers discover, order, and interact with Waters online.You will lead day-to-day delivery for one or more India-based engineering squads, ensuring predictable execution, strong engineering practices, and high-quality outcomes aligned to global product and platform priorities.This role reports to the Senior Manager - eCommerce Engineering.

Responsibilities

WhatYou'llDo

  • Drivedelivery execution for global eCommerce and eProcurement initiatives that directlyimpactonhow customers buy from Waters.
  • Drive sprint execution and delivery outcomesfor assigned squads- championing speed, reliability, and experience quality at every stage.
  • Implement platform enhancementsaligned to architecture directionusing SAP Commerce Cloud, microservices, modern DevOps, automation, and cloud-ready architectures.
  • Contribute to scalable solutions following established standardsthatimprovesite performance,enablenew digital capabilities, andsupportour multi-year growth roadmap.
  • Partner seamlessly with global product, UX, infrastructure, SAP, and backend teams to deliver solutions that balance technical rigor with business value.
  • Develop, and inspire engineering talent - raising the bar on technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Technologies:

  • SAP Commerce Cloud,Adobe Experience Suite, Java/J2EE, React, HTML, CSS, Atlassian suite, Git, CI/CD, Microservices, Cloud (AWS, Azure)

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership
  • Act as a strong technical leader for assigned squads, ensuring adherence toestablishedcommerce architecture and best practices.
  • Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making.
  • Drive adoption of modern engineering practices including CI/CD, DevOps automation, microservices, and cloud-native development.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure secure and resilient environments.

  • Delivery & Architecture
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of software engineers, QA engineers, and DevOps contributors.
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance feedback, and career development planning.
  • Promote a high-performing, inclusive team culture focused on ownership, learning, anddeliveryexcellence.
  • Ensureappropriate staffing, skill balance, and workload distribution acrosssquads.

  • Collaboration & Governance
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager - eCommerce Engineering to align execution with global priorities and roadmaps.
  • Partner with business, product, and UX stakeholders to ensure transparent communication and alignment.
  • Ensure delivery governance including release readiness, risk management, compliance, and smooth post-production handoffs.

Qualifications

  • B.E./B.Tech or equivalent
  • 8-10+ years of overall IT experience with 3-5+ years leading digital or eCommerce engineering teams.
  • Experience delivering eCommerce capabilities such as online ordering, checkout, product data, content experience, and eProcurement.
  • Working knowledge of SAP Commerce Cloud, AEM, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and modern web technologies.
  • Strong understanding of integration patterns, REST services, pricing, PIM, and backend ERP interactions.
  • Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across global teams and translate requirements into execution.
