The Manager, firmware Engineering will facilitate the definition, implementation, and validation of the video telematic firmware within one or more engineering teams. This position is responsible for both people and product development. People development includes career planning, mentoring, project leadership, and team building for their scrum teams. The Manager will partner with product managers and the engineers to facilitate the detailed roadmap for their feature set. They will promote standards and practices within and across teams to balance speed, quality, and safety in software releases. The position requires a deep technical background in connected embedded product development. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to drive engineering practices that create great products and meaningful employee experiences.

- Hire, mentor and developpurpose-driven engineers capable of rapidly delivering and learning.
- Partner with engineers, engineering managers, and product managers to build frameworks and services that enable increased feature velocity, improved monitoring, and continual improvement of applications.
- Must be able to go as deep as necessary to validate design and technology directions and solve problems.
- Work with leadership to devise proper resourcing and budget needs.
- You will drive feature development with a platform architecture in mind, partitioning optimally between hardware, edge, and cloud.
- You will work cross-functionally with the hardware engineering, field installation, product management, and technical support teams to ensure Lytx customers experience the highest standards of quality and performance.
- You will collaborate closely with the Device Platform Cloud team to maximize the customer value of our Video Telematics Recorders.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's Degree (B.E/ B. Tech) in Computer Science or relevant experience required.
- Minimum of 10 years of software development experience including substantialcomplex whole life cycle software development management.
- Extensive experience in developing software in a scrum/Agile environment.
- 5+ years experience in technical lead role with proven experience mentoring engineers from a technical standpoint
- 5+ years of Experience in leading and managing firmware teams
- Experience in on-boarding new hires, providing performance feedback and developing employees.
- Conversant in programming languages such as C, C++,
- Proven experience in analyzing, solutioning and influence teams and stakeholders in more than one of following technical areas:
- Designing for MCU-MPU combination HW
- Optimizing and improving device performance for large volume data storage and retrieval
- Video quality improvements
- Device connectivity and security hardening
- Leveraging HW capabilities to optimize edge AI performance
